I have prepared for gate and have done mtech from iit also I am also preparing for UPSC also Gate preparation just require 3 months dedicated preparation is required and upsc is a completely different field it will take a year long dedication , gate is just one three hours gone wrong whole preparation of (3month) gone but in upsc you have around 8 subjects (3months atleast each ) if u have prepared well for each subjects it's ok from your side chose wisely and sory I can't write here more Hope it helped you

Dear IIT is known for b.tech , whereas m.tech is not that solid or research oreiented in India,.with same efforts you put for GATE you can easily crack any pcs exam atleast or GRE exam and can land in Oxford or Cambridge. Regarding Engineering, if you are not from ECE or CS or IT, there are various ssc and JE exams whose syllabus is half technical and half non technical.......they often happens regularly.

Respected sir..i am 27,from J&k , recently selected for railways je in mechanical engg(but joining and hence the training delayed by coronavirus).i also qualified for the interview(which is giong to be purely technical in nature) for the post of Assistant Director in fire and emergency services in Jkpsc.but it is my seriously desire to start prep for civil service exam now but extention in interview(due to abrogation of 35 A and govt's confusion over to resume Jkpsc or dissolve it) leading me towards confusion that for what to go for and what to perfer first as the technical subjects need every 2 months to revise the whole syllabus otherwise these subjects and regarding concepts drain out ....aur ab jldi he training b start ho jayegi and uski study ka load aur ho jyega ..this kind of situation will defer my either of the preparations by confusion...kindly suggest me the best.🙏
