Hora chart is made of Moon and Sun only since Moon and Sun are the creator of life. Without them there wouldn't be any life, this is why Moon is the mother, and Sun is the father, both of whom create life. Also, your birthday should not be celebrated on the same day everyday, because only when Moon and Sun are at the exact same distance as they were in your birth horoscope, that is when you are re-born on yearly basis. This concept is known is Tithi Pravesh, or Tithi nakshatra. All Indian festivals and religious holidays are celebrated based on this concept and not the actual date. Also, hora chart is the foundation behind the invention of week. Questions: Who made the weekdays or who named the weeks is determined by the hora of the Sun, moon and rest of the planets. Why Monday comes after Sunday and Why Tuesday comes after Monday can be explained logically by concept of Hora chart. You can also use the hora chart to start certain events in life like job, marriage and start of any business. Your yearly horoscope is also based on tithi pravesh hora chart. Every year on your vedic birthday, at the time when Moon comes on the exact same degree as during your birth, that snapshot of the sky becomes your yearly birthday.

This is interesting. For example, my 10th house is Capricorn, which is ruled by Saturn which sits at the end of my second house. Since I was born at 12:15am, then I should be sending resumes out at sometime between 3 and 4:15am, which I almost never do. Is this the correct understanding of what you said? At the end, you say that "wait for the hour of the planet that rules (10th h for resumes, 7th h for proposal, etc.) to rise. When during the day does Mars and Saturn rule? how to know hour of Mars or hour of saturn each day ?

At midnight on each day, that hour is ruled by whatever planet rules that day and then each hour after that goes in the order of Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon. So on a Sunday at midnight that first hour is ruled by the Sun (because the Sun rules Sunday). Then 1am is Venus, 2am is Mercury, 3am is Moon,..7am is Sun, 8am is Venus, etc. If you search "Planetary Hours" on Wikipedia there's a chart.
