Have you tried using a curling wand with no clip? Just wrap a piece of hair around it and hold it for 10 sec. Remington makes a good one that's super affordable.

Don't try to press the straightener really hard on your hair, it'll destroy it. :) You can do it! Practice makes perfect!

Start practicing with a cold flat/curling iron, trying to do what she does. Angles are important but also the temperature of your iron. The higher the heat, the more likely you are to get a curl and a curl that lasts. Try not to pull your hair so much so that you don't damage it. And find a good iron, not something that ruins your hair, like ceramic plate irons,not ones that just have a ceramic coat over them

I love you girlie! You are my number one to search when I am in between products! Hopefully you can answer my question. I have thick, coarse, over processed, dry hair that is dry from root to tip and I have a 2c curl pattern. I take medication (accutane) that halts my oil production to almost a complete stop , and when i say that, I MEAN IT. I have gone a whole month without washing- NO WORD OF A LIE - AND MY SCALP HAS NOT A SPOT OF OIL. People think I just washed my hair! it's just as dry as my ends! So of course I have no oil to distribute to my ends either. You would be mind boggled watching me try to put gobs of argon oil in because it doesn't penetrate and just sleuces off of my hair. When I go off the medication my acne comes back and my scalp condition as well (folliculitis, literally large painful boils all over my head that pop and ooze yellow). My dermatologist did take a biopsy and there was no sign of fungus. So he prescribed me medicated shampoos that were mixed in the pharmacy and also a liquid antibiotic serum I put on my roots. None of them worked, only the accutane does. I would love to share some photos of my hair but don't think I can do it in this comment. Any advice on what hair tools and hair products to use would be amazing.

I’m the opposite. I can curl my right hair but my left side is hopeless.

You have to flip the hair differently. Can’t remember which side is which, but if you notice she rests the hair on top of the straightener. On the other side of your head, out the hair on the bottom. This will achieve the curls going the same way on both sides, of this makes sense. I struggled with this for a long time until I watched a bunch of videos and figured it out.

My hairstylist said that it’s all in the wrist movement and that once you get that down the actual curls are super easy. He also said to try practicing without turning on the straightener so you don’t have to worry about burning hair...hope that helps☺️
