Thank you for the care tips! I just bought a pair of Tielands over Christmas, and I want to ensure they're well protected before I wear them out in all this snow and salt here in Toronto! For what SW boots cost, wouldn't want to ruin them!!

Yayy! Love Tielands 🤩 and definitely agreed about protecting them before wear. Snow/slush and salt in Toronto are the bane of my existence when it comes to suede shoes 😔 so I’m happy to help! The other day I was wearing a new pair out and got hand sanitizer on it and it made the patch of suede hard so definitely be careful around sanitizer! Enjoy and rock those beauties! ☺️💕

Awesome sleek boot styling. I want a pair of Stuart weitzman boots but the lowland ultralift platform boots are the only boots that can fit me and size 12 are currently sold out. They’re so popular like you hehe 😉💙

Heyy! Thank you! I’m a size 7 in all 3 of the Stuart Weitzman boots! I’m normally a size 8-8.5 in shoes depending on the brand, sometimes 7.5 in heels so definitely size down. But with shoes it varies so differently between individuals and even between shoes from the same brand so trying them on in store would be best! 🙂

Loved the video! Would have loved to hear what color you would wear for which outfits. I have black lowlands as I wasn’t sure if I could pull off the other colors. But am now totally sold on the tielands! By the way, I love your style! The cape you are wearing is so amazing looking!

Thanks girl!! :) Black is so versatile I don’t think you can go wrong with black lowlands for all outfits! It’s fun to experiment with colors with cheaper boots (like the dupes!) but brown is a great alternative if you like warmer toned clothing and grey for cooler toned clothing! Both grey and brown are still neutrals and it’ll look a bit “softer” than black, so those are good places to venture into! :D

Hey Lola!! :) Thank you! 💛 I use these inflatable boot stuffers (in a slightly longer length) but they can deflate overtime I have to tape up the opening. Hey Renee!! Great point, I’ve heard that too, but I think style is different for everyone! I dress not for what’s in trend but for what I feel best and confident in! :)

Great video! I'm looking at the Genna boot and they have them in both suede and leather. I am in Boston so definitely deal with snow/salt here as well. I have some knee high leather boots so was thinking of the suede as a change, but which would you recommend given the environment they'll be in? Thank you so much for your help!!

Hi Sarah! Ooo I just looked up the Genna boots and they’re cute! Hm it depends, are these going to be your sole winter boots? Will you be diligent with weather protecting them with sprays? I would say it’s great as a once in a while boots but if they’re going to be an everyday boot I would choose a leather pair so it holds up better. I was using hand sanitizer in the car and some accidentally got on my suede and it made that area hard too 🥲. If it’s a good price or you don’t care too much about it staying nice and pristine and will be weather proofing it a lot then it’s worth a shot! 😃

I also think the leather would be better for upkeep but I've been looking at people styling them, and I think it might be a bit too edgy for my style :) Do you think I would have to weather proof the suede boot multiple times in a season? I'm okay if they don't look brand new but obviously don't want them ruined within a few weeks.

@@sarahmcdonnell4647 Haha agreed! Leather OTK boots are a bit harder to pull off whereas the suede looks more feminine and softer :). I think if you spray a few times a season it should be fine! The saphir invulner can last for awhile on the shoes but of course can wear off eventually. At the end of the day things are meant to be loved and worn and any scuffs will build character hehe ;) Enjoy them!!

Hey babe!! I’m glad you found it helpful! 🥰 The saphir invulner spray on the website says “ can be used on all types of leather including smooth, nappa, box calf (calf skin), veal, suede and nubuck. It is suitable for use on the most expensive and delicate materials such as nappa and silk” so Lambskin should be fine as well! It’s always a good idea to spot treat an area first just to make sure 😄👍

I recently received my first pair of Tieland boots in black. I love them, but had to return immediately because the suede felt sticky/giving resistance when caressed throughout the pair as if it had been treated with a “protectant”. Very few areas felt soft and smooth like normal suede and the stickiness made lint attach so easily. Within minutes of taking out of box the suede looked old and used. Touching it made it worse bc of the stickiness. In the “untreated” areas, this was not the case. Have you had this experience? How exactly is the suede supposed to feel? From what I understand, suede is velvety but the pair I received was “flat”, rigid and “sticky”. Huge disappointment, don’t know if to order another pair to see if I simply received a faulty pair, initially.

Hm that’s strange, maybe you were given a faulty pair? I don’t think any of mine are sticky 😮. Although you’re right suede does attract lint more easily!

Thank you for your response. I went into the S.W store today in NYC and had an associate check out the boots I was delivered. She agreed they felt sticky/rough and that those pair are definitely faulty in every way. Thankfully I received a replacement that was properly sprayed with protectant by the associate and I am very pleased. Come to think of it, I almost feel the suede on the initial pair was sewn inside out, which is why it felt extremely weird. Glad it’s all resolved, now. @@janeshappyplace3687

Hey!!!! 😄 welcome back! Glad you were able to watch this video! All of the boots in this video are suede! I do own a pair of the SW zuzanna taupe leather boots as well. I think suede OTK do look classier and leather is edgier and slightly trickier to pull off but it’s a lot easier to clean 😀 what about yourself? What OTK boots do you have?
