Simple white Keds that have some heft (not athletic shoe) are my go to for this sneaker look. They pair nicely with casual dresses (usually a long tee dress), wide leg jeans…ankle or to the floor. I do think proportions are a thing and I am quite frankly thrilled that a comfy sneaker can be worn acceptably out and about. I do think my favorite look for you were the wide legged pants with the sneaker!! 👍🏻

Valentina, props to you for getting outside your comfort zone! A good rule of thumb I like to follow for wearing sneakers with a skirt - give your casual piece (the sneakers) a buddy. For example, your ball cap! Or perhaps a simple tee or a more relaxed bag. That way the outfit looks cohesive and not confused. Love the rest of your looks!!

An idea for the wide legged pants with sneakers - you could go with something light weight like a tank on top since all the heft would be on the bottom. It’s just a matter of balancing proportions 😊. On that note, could you do a video on how to dress your body shape? I’d be very interested to see!!

As a fellow member of the petite club, my favorite combo is wide leg pants with sneakers. I also love a mini/midi dress or midi skirt with sneakers. I think the key is finding the right sneaker profile for the specific pants or dress/skirt.

Love that you did this. Just went to Germany and my feet gave out so I had wear the trail running shoes the entire time! This is great inspiration. I love the all white, non-logo’d street sneaker look. I bet you could make fabulous outfits with those and your wardrobe. Really appreciate the more casual styling you do since that is my life but still want to be leveled up as I just work at home and run errands 90% of the time.

I love my Sambas. Just wore them for a 9 day trip in Japan walked on average 7 miles per day and they were so comfortable and looked stylish with all my clothes. I hope they never go out of style!

My white Keds and Dolce Vitas are perfect with cotton skirts and spring/summer dresses... however, .to the office, not so much. A leather crossbody instead of bulky handbag tops off a fun day out and about. Of course, you can pull off any look, V. Thanks!

Im 5ft 0 and I'm so happy I found your channel! ❤ I find when I wear sneakers with skirts, you're right! It has to be a specific length of the skirt and the fabric as well needs to be flowy and not too restrictive to keep it from feeling too bottom heavy (if its a maxi skirt). At least for me.

I bought the NB 327 last year for our Paris trip and they are most comfortable sneakers I’ve ever had. I bought 2 more pairs for my work (I’m a nurse). I highly recommend it esp if you have wide fee like me!

As a petite lady myself (5’ 1”) I so relate with the proportion comments! Looking like a child dressing up in their mother’s clothing is not the look I’m going for at my age. This is YOUR channel, Valentina - therefore, any of us watching are watching because we identify in some way with you and your style, and even your body type and size (as is my case because I'm 5'1" myself) 😁 Different styles look better or worse on different people. We are all unique. My point is - you should never feel bad for saying what IS your style or preference, or NOT your style. And I agree that what may look great on a tall person, doesn't always look great on short women like us. Proportion is everything and anything wide can quickly overwhelm a small frame - especially with sneakers. You can get away with more wearing heels (like wider leg pants or long skirts), but most flats or sneakers are trickier (is that a word??😂) to coordinate with certain items of clothing.

I definitely wear white sneakers with skirts and a summer dress, but for me, it can't be a sneaker with a platform, which will through off the entire proportion. I like that look with a low profile sneaker, and I will wear it only with completely white sneaker with nothing on it, no stipes or logos.

Personally I’m all about a comfy shoe for everyday, and when it comes to sneakers/tennis shoes I tend to gravitate towards shoes like the Nike Air Force One or the Puma Cali Wedge sneaker. Both have a cleaner look and I think they are a basketball sneaker? Whereas the sneakers you’re styling have a much more casual look to me and are really good for walking/running. Since your style is so elevated and polished I wonder if a different type of sneaker would suit you better than the dad sneakers. Just a thought! Love your channel Valentina!

I don't think they wear baseball cap in copenhagen, or anywhere in Europe. It's mostly an American thing, and kinda cheapens an outfit ---- I don't mean it's a bad thing. Sometimes you just want to feel down-to-earth and don't want to look too formal or too high-maintenance, and a baseball cap definitely helps.

I love sneakers with trousers, but I think they need to be more streamlined rather than chunky style. ECCO has some wonderful styles and they are oh so comfortable. I love their white leather high-tops. Wore these walking around NYC for days. I just purchased the Adidas Grand Court with the black stripes. When I tried them on, they seemed really comfortable. Haven't worn them yet, but I plan to style them with some black linen trousers I have. Last year I splurged and purchased a pair of Golden Goose. I get a lot of wear out of them and they look so stylish with many of my wardrobe staples. Thanks for this video. I am new to your channel and I am also petite, so I appreciate your style tips.

The light colored wide leg pants look great on you with the sneakers! I'm a fan of the long wide leg pants or tapered pants that show some ankle with sneakers. I think the straight leg pants that hit the top of the sneakers can look a bit outdated and if you are a woman over 40 can make you look older. I also love sneakers with the midi length pleated skirts that are on trend currently and with maxi dresses.

As wife of an expat we travelled a lot to different countries & my white sneaker is my favorite shoes to wear because I can wear it with shorts, pants & skirt still looks stylish except when we were hiking in Petra & when we did Kenya Safari coz I had to wear my hiking boots.😀 I wear my white sneaker with pant & blazer looks stylish. I have never been a fan of the white, bulky sneaker with anything. There are so many cuts and colors of sneakers available (that are also comfortable), I think that you can find a stylish option for a lot of outfits. Having said that, I am also not a fan of sneakers and skirts. Maybe a mini denim skirt with just the right sneaker, but it would have to be perfect for me to go there. I do however, love a suit or pants with sneakers. I agree, no "pooling" pants.

I wanted to say that about the caps as well. I love them but they don't go with everything she puts on. For some reason they make her look shorter with her hair out. Maybe try putting your hair into a ponytail with the caps and with something sporty. You want to look taller, not shorter😊

I agrée with you on baseball caps. I don’t like them. Always make my head hot. And never wear them in Europe unless you want to scream “I AM AMERICAN “. A nice straw hat would be so much more chic As for feet……I took ballet lessons for 12 years/6days a week. Talk about ruined feet. When I travel I wear white leather sneakers, usually Eccos. Never athletic sneakers unless I’m home out for a run or in the gym. Take care of your feet .

Sneakers look great with skirts IF you are wearing the right ones. I never wear athletic sneakers with skirts. I wear the slimmer style leather ones like the ones from Ecco, ColeHaan and Paul Green. Never gym shoes or running shoes because they look big, wide and too casual.

Vejas are really in style right now in the UK, along with the New Balance 530. Everyone is wearing them. The Vejas are very easy to pair with skirts as they have this feminine but comfy look.

You can definitely pull of the wide leg trousers with the sneakers, especially as you have balanced it so nicely with the sweater and cap. The Elie Tahari trousers really need a pair of heels however as they don’t have the right shape nor length on you to pull of the look.

Although, I swore I would never wear a shirt with only one side tucked in and one side hanging out, but yesterday I wore a silk blouse with straight leg jeans and heels and styled the shirt with the one side tucked in! I think it was the jacket with the jean skirt that caused the sneakers not to work. When you pulled it off your shoulder it all looked good with just the tank. Maybe a sweater over your shoulders would be better.

My favorite look was the white trousers with the striped sweater over your shoulders. I also love sneakers with wide leg pants. They looked great on you. I follow a few UK influencers and love seeing the sambas on them but for me personally I’m not drawn to them as much. New Balance though are my favorite sneakers and now I want the white pair of navy one that you have. I’m also 5’4 and don’t like the look of the long denim skirts with sneakers. Thank you. This is such a struggle for me. I’m a Chanel and Chloe ballet flat girl and I wear them everywhere (I know your feeling about ballet flats. Lol). I try to wear sneakers but I don’t feel right. I think it’s bc I’m 5’ tall and it makes me feel like a child of I’m not polished. Hi. If you want to wear sneakers with a skirt you have to use white classic sneakers, not the New Balance or the ones from Adidas. And my tip to you is to wear it with a longer skirt that stop just above the ankles. I am a petite woman my self so I know that this works, you should try, but the colour and the shape of the sneakers are important ☺️

I have a really hard time with dress clothes and sneakers. It looks like the 80's / 90's commuter shoes. ... the shoes we all used to wear to work and then put on our heels. I have large feet (10) and find sneakers bulky and uncomfortable and just too much muchness. Why would I want those giant things on my feet? Keds are the only ones I’m able to wear because they have a low rise, but it’s hard to find them (in my size and preferred style). So for me, not only are sneakers with dresses a hard pass, they are simply a pass pass.

I love love love sneakers! Love them with dresses, wide legs pants etc…however I can’t get into the running shoe/dad style with dresses and tailored pants, short skirts and the like. It just looks bulky and not very stylish to me. I have been known to change my mind tho so don’t hold me to it haha.

I like all the outfits with the Samba’s or all any other slim line all white sneaker like Vegas’s. I’m personally not into the bigger athletic shoe (530 Dad Sneaker) with suits and skirts. I actually like you in the denim skirt with the sambas. Not a fan of the larger Dad sneaker on you because you are so petite I think it over powers you. The New Balance 327 is the biggest sneaker I like. Because it has a more retro look and is slimmer in the width it can look good with certain things. A few of the outfit when you had the 327 on were good on you. That’s my personal opinion if you care. Side note: It’s so crazy to see how popular the Sambas are. It was the sneaker I put my two boys in all through elementary school days. Lol

So here's the thing, it's ok if you don't like certain items (skirts/sneakers) some may, and vice versa. I adore your channel but feel that there shouldn't be a need to express why you do or don't like something, to each his own right. Just keep posting what you like, everyone has different tastes. Nobody is gonna please everybody. Your doing great

I’m a sneaker girl, I love styling them with different outfits but my preference is a white sneaker, not a big fan of the coloured ones, I wasn’t liking the first look V with the long denim skirt, maybe if it was a bit shorter, I think someone can either pull the look off or they can’t, I don’t think there’s anything in between, being petite myself I have to tweak my outfits when wearing my sneakers, I always show off my ankles when styling them and I don’t wear baggy pants, they make me look frumpy plus I don’t sew to be able to adjust the hem so they end up dragging on the ground and I don’t like that look, I mostly wear them with jeans rolled up, mini skirts but not too short, I have a finger length rule, holding my arms down by my side and my skirt or dress can’t be above that length, sneakers for me are a casual look, I don’t try to dress an outfit up wearing them, I guess for me and only me, because I do love to wear my sneakers often when I’m running errands and things like that I don’t want to wear them when I’m going out somewhere special, I have other shoes for dressing up, and remember most of those models on Pinterest are TALL Lol 😂 and a lot younger, so anything they wear will look great, I did like the outfit with the short sleeve greyish jacket over the black, that was my favourite outfit on you out of most of them. I guess it comes down to personal preference and you can either pull them off or you can’t. For the most part sneakers are the only shoes I wear other than boots. That said, I agree, I don't like sneakers with dresses or skirts - so I don't wear them. It's only pants and shorts for me.

the sneakers works with the long blk denim skirt, the jkt is not right for the look to short, a long blazer would be better heather grey draped over your shoulders 🙂

I love flirty skirts/sundresses with white sneakers. I think in your first outfit the Jean skirt was the issue more than the shoe. Too matronly looking cut for your cute figure imo 😬

Interesting video, Valentina. I like the white or tan sneaker with your linen pant. I just think you might need to wear a belt with that outfit. On the Ellen show for years, Ellen would wear some funky sand shoes or sneakers with her outfits. That lady was ahead of her time.

Where do you go wearing a mini skirt & a sneaker you asked? lol I wore a black mini skirt & white mega chunky sneakers and I went to the club last night. I am not a frequenter of the club but I do go to a lot of concerts/festivals. Lol I am a 28 y/o woman living in NYC but you need a pair of beater shoes for the club / concert / festival but you might want to wear a mini skirt or dress 😂
