You sound like Isabella Rossellini. I just decided tonight I needed to learn how to do this, and I found your wonderful video. I saw someone else do the same.

It's up to you, you can leave them on until the mug cools but it can make the colors darker and you run the risk of ghosting. For me personally I get better results removing right away.

Thank you for this clear demonstration. My question is do you need to remove everything while hot or can you wait until it cools down and then remove the silicone and everything else?
@PoppyHillDesigns2 жыл бұрын
You can wait until everything is cool before removing the wrap, I haven't tried it, but I would probably reduce the bake time by a minute or two since the sublimation process would continue for a while as it cools down. I'm thinking about doing a tutorial on this as I've had a few other people ask.

Natalie, I let mine cool. It helps with the faded areas around the edges. It will continue to "cook" a little more and darken the parts that were faded.

@PoppyHillDesigns Жыл бұрын
Each oven is different, I would try it and make adjustments as needed. The best way to tell is look at the area in your design that should be black, if they are black then time is good! If they are brownish they are overcooked, greenish means not long enough. Hope this helps.

I have the same oven (1st time user) pls advise the setting for each of the 3 knobs I tried bake 385 / but not sure of the setting for the last knob
@PoppyHillDesigns3 жыл бұрын
Top knob is temperature, that's the only one you need to set. Use an oven thermometer to check the oven temperature and adjust the knob up or down as needed. The middle knob is a timer, I don't use it at all, and the bottom one is for toast, so there is no use for it in sublimation. Good luck with your mugs.

Help! I have a similar oven brand new but don't know of how to make it 400 degrees. What settings do you have your knobs on?
@PoppyHillDesigns3 жыл бұрын
I place the oven thermometer inside the oven then turn the knob to 400 degrees and let it heat for 10 minutes. I then look at the thermometer inside the oven, if it's over 400 degrees I turn the knob on the oven down, if not hot enough I turn it up. The temperature in the oven will go up and down as you open the door. Try to keep it within 380 to 400 degrees.

So i can't use a regular ceramic mug? It has to be a sublimation mug? You said you let it cool down with air or a fan. What about the freezer or refrigerator?
@PoppyHillDesigns2 жыл бұрын
A mug coated for sublimation is essential for the process to work. The reason I suggest letting it cool slowly is to avoid micro cracking of that sublimation coating. You won't be able to see it with you eyes, but if the cracking occurs your mug will not stand the test of time. It only takes about 15 mins. or so to cool, so it's not long.
@45Bryseida2 жыл бұрын

Hello I have this oven but I’m confused on how to set the temperature at convection
@PoppyHillDesigns2 жыл бұрын
Hi Deborah, just use the top dial and turn it to 400 degrees or the temperature you need, that will automatically activate the convection feature. Use an oven thermometer, as demonstrated in the video, to calibrate the temperature, you will probably have to adjust the dial on the oven. As long as you keep the temperature between 385 to 400 degrees F you should be good. Hope this answers your question.

Soooo...I got this toaster convection oven, which looks pretty much like yours. But when I set it to airfry (which is the convection) it runs about 475. Am I ok with this? Or, should I just set it to bake at 400?
@PoppyHillDesigns4 жыл бұрын
475 is too high! Is there a way for you to lower the temp? As I stated in my video an oven thermometer is very useful in getting your temp. correct.
@karenfreeman96334 жыл бұрын
I used the thermometer, that's how I knew. I can set it to bake at the lower temperature, but apparently, when the air fryer (convection) kicks on, it goes higher. Maybe I could set it to the lower temperature and then just manually put the convection part on periodically?
@txgirl9953 жыл бұрын
@@karenfreeman9633 Convection always makes the temp higher. Maybe play around with a lower temp that will stop at 400. (plus using a thermometer) I have a Breville oven and that is what mine does--if I take it out of convection/super convection the temp is always higher.

Can we do this in the stove oven?
@extemos64764 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't recomend if you going to cook since you're baking chemicals from the ink get a oven and dedicate it for that only.
@SlavicCooking_CreativePrinting3 жыл бұрын
If you use any oven for sublimation it can NEVER be used for food again. The sublimation process turns the solid, dry printed sublimation ink directly to a gas, bypassing the liquid stage... and that will permeate throughout the interior of the oven. It will not only severely alter the tastes of food cooked in it but the chemicals that remain from the residual of the gas can be toxic if ingested.
