how do you get even cook i always get spots on the very top where it doesnt press on top, and i have taped it all around with alot of tape and shrink wrap

You'd have to lay it on the side and turn half way through.

You would have a much easier time taking the shrink wrap off when it is hot not cold. Wear heat gloves.
