I totally agree with you about getting prepared. Last year I tried the piscine with almost zero coding knowledge and was totally overwhelmed and lost. I didn't finish because of health issues unrelated to the piscine, but had I prepared a little in advance my life would have been way easier during the weeks I attended.. One year later, I am about to embark in a new piscine and I have used the past year to learn the things you mention (took the first half of Harvard CS50 for now, learned more C, the command line, learned quite a bit of Python which somehow helped me tremendously to understand arrays, for instance,, and in general got way more of a techie than I was a year ago). This does not mean I will pass, but at least I know I will be able to enjoy the experience more and perhaps be of more help to my peers. Hope I manage to get into 42!

hello! i just wanted to thank you for making content about 42. i just completed the tests, i got to level 14 on the first one and 16 on the second one; so i'm just waiting for 42's decision and crossing my fingers that i'll be accepted. i discovered your channel when i was trying to learn more about 42, and your content has helped me to get a better understanding of the programme. thanks again, i'll definitely be checking your other videos too!

I have a really specific question: the four week "always on" kind of concept scares me a bit. I have really painful periods where for 2 days I really need to rest and can't show up and code 8hs. I have no idea if that's gonna negatively impact my chances since scoring is secret and from everything I have seen, consistency is quite important for them. Additional question: How can you specialize once being in the school? I know C from earlier times, never used it much but really would like to do practical projects fast with Python, React, GoLang... How quickly can someone with previous experience go through the curriculum to the really relevant and specific stuff for oneself?

At least in my piscine, the staff from my 42 said that if you needed to take a break it was okay to take the day off. It's way better to take a break and come back refreshed + willing to learn than no taking one and be stuck with a low mood :)

Finished my piscine few weeks ago. There was nobody who really felt like they couldn't come, for us 42 was our second home and depending of the hour and the places, we had our little family. This been said, some people didn't come for one or two days because they were sick, not because they wanted to. Some were accepted, as long as it was not too repetitive and they came to exams and group projects, which make sense. Finally, the piscine was a great experience, even for the people who gave up or weren't accepted. I hope my feelings are shared in all the schools

You can talk to administration of the school about health-related absenses, in our school they took it into account As for specialisation in different tech, if that's your goal 42 might not be for you. If you're very fast you can get through core projects in a year and then there's a mandatory internship, so almost 1.5 years total until you get to code in something other than C and C++. If you don't wanna spend a year coding in C, maybe this is not your thing

@@othmaneer-refaly9216 Hey there! I have a biology background and want to get into coding. At the moment I have absolutely no knowledge about it. I came across the 42 program and figured it was for beginners and tried applying. I reached level 14 or 15 in the memory test but I couldn't really understand the logic test. I only reached level 3 or 4. Now I'm wondering that maybe coding isn't for me since I couldn't even do the test right. Could you guide me on whether or not I should even go in this direction? Maybe my logical brain is really weak? I am not sure since I've always been a really good student.

@@re_reem Hey my friend let me tell you something I didn't get the logic test from the first time as well but eventually I did (I advice you to keep doing it over and over until you get it same as I did it would be helpful if you findsomeone that could help you) and here I'm accepted in the school and I can see a lot of people started the school at the same time as with no coding background and they are way better then me now, that makes me feel stupid but each one of us has his own way of learning maybe they learn fast and I'm not maybe they put more effort but at the end of it I'm way way way better then my old me in the first day of this school you would never now if coulding in this school is for you or not unless you tried it yourself I advice you to give it a chance you wont regret it good luck may Allah help you

I just registered for August 5th piscine but my challenge is that i am from Nigeria. How can i get across to a Nigerian in 42london so he can educate me on how he got his visa because 42london said they're not yet accredited and there invitation letter will not be accepted to grant me visa to attend piscine...i need urgent assistance please

My Piscine was at the Moscow campus in February 2021. And it was a really unforgettable experience. One day I just saw the information about 42 (School 21) and said: "Okay, I'm in! Let's give it a shot..." Zero knowledge at the beginning, and 48/100 on the exam🤓. It wasn't easy for me, but it really worked! P.S. The pointers in C blew my mind 😂

42 is not in pakistan, I'm Pakistani as well but I'm in malaysia and It's been 2 days I'm going to 42. You give online 2 hour game test and after that your piscine journet start

@@wazirabaditechepic First you should choose the campus. There are many campuses but none in Pakistan. You should choose a campus where you will be able to get a long term visa and will be able to find accommodations and so and so. Say you choose 42 Abu Dhabi cause it's nearby. Then you gotta go to it's website, sign up and create an account, do the online test. If you pass the online test, congrats you are eligible to attend the piscine. The piscine will happen on campus. You have to make arrangements to stay there for over a month. If you get selected in the piscine, you can become a 42 student...
