Hello Xandra, welcome to my channel. Sorry to know that you have lost many of your vanda orchids. Please note that while we call these orchids vanda , majority of them are actually vanda crossed with Ascocentrum and Arachnis and are referred to as Mokara orchids. There keep and care is a little different from the straight Vandas hence planting them in the sun etc. I have a video showing how I pot them. Perhaps you could check that out as well. 👉🏼 kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJCndKlsnKaXqc0 . Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it and I look forward to more interaction. One love from Jamaica 🙏🥂🌴💖

Hello my teacher. Good video. I have a tall Vanda and it is a consistent bloomer. I plan to cut it soon. We are getting some rain in Santa Cruz and the blooms are not keeping up. I just love to look at your Orchids.
@growingorchidsinjamaica2 жыл бұрын
😄😄😍. Hi there Pamella, thank you so much!! Just ensure that your tall Vanda has sufficient roots prior to cutting for better results. Yes the rain can really reduce the lifespan of the blooms. You may have to spray with a fungicide to reduce the impact. I'm happy you love my orchids 💃. Blessings! 🙏🥂.

@growingorchidsinjamaica2 жыл бұрын
Hell Romeleen, the hard work is just now paying off. 😎. I'm sure you can get yours to be in good condition by planting them in medium that will retain some moisture if not water them more frequently. Depending on what is happening, I sometimes water daily. You could also place them in a semi shaded area so that they do not dry out for too long before you water them. Best wishes. 🥂

Thank you Orchid Doc for this fascinating lesson, I actually watched the video twice. I have a question, will the blooming sequence be interrupted due to the top cut or will the top keep blooming as it normally would. Again thank you for this video.
@growingorchidsinjamaica2 жыл бұрын
Hello Donna, I'm happy that you appreciated this video so much that you had to watch it twice. Yes the plant will continue to bloom given that it gets sufficient plant food and water to sustain it while establishing a new rooting system. In order for the plant to become strong again though, it would be best to remove the blooms and any new spike. Thanks for watching. Blessings 🙏😎🥂

Hello Jan, good to hear from you and welcome from South Africa. 😎. I also have algal problems but I use a quaternary base fungicide like Physan 20 to avert it. I also find that the dishwashing liquid works as well to reduce it. Happy growing.🙏😎💖

Hello 😊💕 This was a really great video. I learned so much. I have a sick Vanda, all the leaves have dropped off of the bottom half. I didn't realize that those leaves could grow back if I did a top cut. I'll check the plant again to see if I could do a top cut and how many roots are there. This was a video I always wanted to see. I'll watch it again, then I'll go outside and try it for myself. Warm greetings to you from TnT 💕😎🌴☀️
@growingorchidsinjamaica2 жыл бұрын
Hello Nicole, I'm so happy you've learnt a lot from this video. 👍💖🥂. When you do a top cup, the bottom should send out new plants. As long as there are sufficient roots and no diseases, the top should continue growing. Please try it and let me know the outcome. One love from Jamaica. 💖👌😎🥂 Charm.
