To get “surfable” waves here in Connecticut, you have to travel to other states. A “swell,” is not a swell, it’s just when the wind kicks up. The biggest wave size I’ve ever seen here on the CT coast is 3 and a half feet. This video is a miracle.

It took me a while for it to click but riding my tiny 5’0 fish, I really just had to focus on generating speed and settle with one or two big turns rather than trying to do a bunch of turns without generating speed. Generating speed in weak surf is the most crucial thing.

Hey Kale! What kind of skateboard would be best for me to buy to practice my surf skills? I'm 5"9 and weigh between 65-70kgs. There's just so many dif' types of boards... This is pretty much all I surf, I head out into small waves with my young daughter, I like the idea of a soft board so that I can help her out while out there, was thinking about a Catch Surf Log 7'0 for 2-3 Foot, any recommendations from anyone on this board or something similar?
