Emily I am soooo happy I found you! Your advice is beyond. I am one month in at a new corp job as an EA. I am an experienced EA but have entered a very old school environment. There isn’t much structure around onboarding training and the one person training me is quite demeaning. I am always kind and respectful but if I ask a question, she responds disrespectfully and as if I just asked the most outlandish question. My direct manager is so busy and overwhelmed with her own work that she outright told me I have to just learn everything but she offers no direction and that was right from day one. I am trying my best to learn what I can and I am very vocal about asking for help but I just have this gut feeling that I should run. I’m a professional and have a thick skin but this is just an atmosphere I have never been in. Help!!!! Please

Emily, I love your content and I have been following you for quite some time now. Thank you for sharing things no one ever tells or talks about. As a fresher in my career, listening to your content has really helped me. Could you make a detailed-elaborate video on how to do networking (essentially starting from what does it mean and how to do it and how can we gradually improve at it? Thanks again for alll the great and effective content you share❤

Small talk with higher ups 💯. I was at a meeting where my boss’ boss’ boss stopped by and we talked about donuts. We had seen each other’s names for years but never met face to face.

My manager has a narrative of me that im trying to break by being more detailed driven person. But still sometime he ask my team if im giving proper requirements to them as opposed to asking them why they are not meeting ETA they have given themselves.

After how long when you start a job do you start feeling confident? I’m two weeks in and feel a bit behind, but I know I just started so I shouldn’t have crazy expectations of myself when I’m just learning.

corporate sounds so freaking petty wtf. Do people not have real problems in life or are they just all this self destructive with no impulse control?

I would be a listening ear to know what is happening and what movements people are planning. Be there for people if they are having a tough time. I wouldn’t put myself into the negativity by intentionally gossiping and bullying though.

Tysm for the video. Btw music on the background is just a bit too loud so it's distracting 🙌🏼

I always find it hard to talk in calls when someone else is talking and I have a point to make. And most of the times I start talking and the other person will talk at the same time so then I usually apologise for cutting them but continue putting my point forth. And the people I work with with extremely kind so they don’t seem to mind it. But is there a better way to approach this?

Corporate life feels more like huge shit 😂😂😂 excuse my French. Just do the job and work where you can be mentaly free and health. I can see you have been through hell of toxic jobs or you are living of the meaning that you are the job you are working. Probably you have university or even higher degree but I can asure you that people without degree can do your and my job also. In the beggining of finding right job for me I have been also like you are now, but afterwards I realised I am not job I am doing, I know my worth, you are not gonna get rised pay by doing more job or stupid things like that, performance is based on comunication and I have to agree your coworkers are just your coworkers and that's it. Anyway this is great video if you are starting but mostly wrong. In whole life people will tell you who you are, what you should or shouldn't , what you need or not, until you know exactly who the heck you are.
