Great video guys! We just finished our first Camino. We’re 63 & 68 years old. We loved the Camino! We felt Napoleon’s Pass was like both heaven and hell, but we would do it again in a heartbeat!

My favorite stop on the Camino is Orison I don’t really understand why, why Pilgrims are so conditioned to rush through this most beautiful section. If you can’t get a bed In Orisson, get a taxi back to SJP and and taxi back to where you left off in the morning. The first day strength soon turns into a Stairway to Hell and blister hell. Great video

Really great video, Erica and Ricky. Retuned from a trip away and had the Journal waiting for me! Very please that I have it now and not a week before setting foot but boy those simple preparing questions! And writing a letter, wow not sure that I will get to do so but intrigued to know what changes/difference there might be in me at the end. Buen Camino. Oh yeah and lots of HUGGS!

Amazing video. A lot more serious than the one "Are you ready for the Camino de Santiago 2023" but just as creative, and witty. Really well done! Thanks so much.

@@caminotellers I will be in Biarritz on Thursday heading for the north path. I don't know if this concerns the Napoleon Pass, but I'll try to survive anyway ;-)

For me, at the age of 70, I’m figuring on doing 6-12 km max per day based on how my body feels . My training walks have been 12 miles and 10 miles and it takes me an extra day for my ankles and calve muscles to recover. So I can comfortably do about 6-8 miles per day. That’s why I’ll be taking a taxi from Valcarlos to the trail past Pic D’Orisson.. I would have liked to go the common route but I would need to stop at Refugio D’Orisson or Borda but they’re both already booked out ☹️
@caminotellers8 ай бұрын
Taxi is a good an opinion. There is a direct way from Valcarlos to Orisson but it takes 3h, plus all that has to be walked after… Valcarlos route is also nice, so no big loose

I walked the last three weeks on the Via Podiensis. The advice along that way was to add the crossing of the Pyrenees because the legs would be well fit at that point. So I did and it was such good advice. So next time I will pick up the camino at Roncesvalles (bus from Pamplona). Been Camino all!

Almost a month ago I went over the Pyrenees. It took 8 hours and I was exhausted. What a day. It's very hard folks

I'm starting my camino on May 2 and as Orisson and Borda are full, I'm choosing to go the Valcarlos route and stay at an accommodation there the first day. The next morning I plan on taking a taxi on D-128 to where the trail picks up on the main route just past Pic D'Orisson and then hiking the rest of the way to Roncesvalles. I think this will spare me injury. Do you have any thoughts or advice about this? Your videos on KZbin have been helpful.
@caminotellers8 ай бұрын
Hi 👋 we will be in SJPDP nearly the same days! Answering your question: following form Valcarlos to Roncesvalles is also a valid option- this is an only route from November to April. It’s not as difficult as the other one, and the weather doesn’t affect you as much. So instead of taking taxi, simply follow the arrows in Valcarlos. Both options are popular choice. If you have an injury already, walk form Valcarlos… what do you think?

Como se puede desaparecer ? Esa no es la zona mas alta y agreste de los Pirineos, esta en Huesca, Aragón. El pico mas alto el Aneto 3400 mtes. Y mucha nieve.
