I remember reading this back when it was newly posted. It's stuck in the back of my head for a while, but I personally like the theory that the wastelands outside lead to some kind of heaven, or at least a permanent death and a way out of the rebirth cycle.
@jonathanluzgonzalez75103 жыл бұрын
Wait wdym? Can you elaborate? I'd love to hear your theory! :3
@PanzerMan3323 жыл бұрын
@@jonathanluzgonzalez7510 The narrator explains that they slowly became hollow in mind, body, and soul after walking out far enough. If they had continued, they probably would've finally eroded completely, and probably died for good. At least that's the theory. My theory is this: Everyone goes to Hell because Heaven doesn't exist in this universe. I believe it USED to exist, but for whatever reason, now it doesn't. Before Heaven disappeared or was destroyed in this world, the wastelands offered a way out for repentant souls in Hell, those that were sorry for their actions and saw the wastelands as a worse form of punishment, voluntarily walking into it and eventually cleansing their souls of sin. Further backing this theory is how the narrator describes himself walking for an unknown but long amount of time. Despite this, the city was only a few steps away when he wanted to return. A hard path to walk to free yourself from sin, but an easy fall to lapse back into it. Those that weren't sorry wouldn't walk into it, because they still selfishly wanted to live, dooming themselves to repeat the cycle in Dis forever until they learn their lesson.

@@PanzerMan332 oh wow I LOVE this theory. That's an amazing conclusion and just seems to make sense!
@himum34293 жыл бұрын
@@PanzerMan332 so basically the wasteland is a modern and much cooler interpretation of purgatory. That's a really good thought. Although the narrative seems helka depressing as if there isn't a way out so maybe this is simply one of the 9 circles(dantes inferno) and once you've mentally and spiritually beaten it through gahena you go onto the next circle.
@PostNukeProductions3 жыл бұрын
@@PanzerMan332 That's an interesting theory, although I had a different idea regarding Gehenna: it isn't purgatory, it's just a different kind of hell. The way it was described made me imagine something more like an abyss or limbo, an infinite, featureless plain of nothing, where no matter how far you go and how much your mind and body erode, you'll never reach the end. The only options you have are to continue walking forever or turn back to the chaos of Dis.

The darkest thing about this story wasn’t the torture and constant violence, it was the sentence he spoke when talking about demonic possession. Claiming demons don’t exist and that it’s just the damned. That sentence truly shows how far gone he is, into the madness of Hell. Because he doesn’t realize he had become a demon himself. Sure, Hell doesn’t have traditional demons in this version. But a demon is a being of pure evil, violence, insanity and no regard for life. And that is what every damned becomes at some point. A violent, murdering, raping cannibal that loses all trust and regard of life. And that truly is the darkest thing about this Hell. You enter as a lost soul, scared, lost, confused. But as time progresses it sucks you into the madness. It rids you of your humanity, of your kindness, of your empathy and eventually of everything that made you a person. And it leaves you as nothing but a monster.. or a demon.

What I find interesting is the fact that there is no interference from an outside entity. It's simply in human nature to want to survive, even at the cost of other humans. That forms the core of why this version of hell is so torturous, Because it's the concept of one's own ego that is really the demon doing the torturing. Because it's degrading to live and die like that for eternity in my opinion, especially since it doesn't matter how strong you are you will die and it will be excruciating. And once you die you're just back in the streets to fight some more

The only thing wrong in this is the malnutrition. You actually can survive indefinitely on cannibalized meat because it contains everything the human body needs, because it's human. Human meat and blood even has vitamin C in it. The only problem is you have to eat most of the organ meat raw to get those vitamins as cooking it would destroy most of the nutrients. The only part you shouldn't eat is the brain and spinal chord because then you run into mad-cow disease problems, which if you ask me, would make hell even more interesting. This person is lying, Hell is much worse then this lie, and Hell is not even eternal, because all who are sent to Hell will one day stand before God to be judged and will then be sent to the lake of fire for all eternity which is eternal suffering. I can tell you that the person making this story up is a liar like his father the Devil! I’ve seen demons to and fallen angels they are very real! I’ve stood before the Lord Jesus Christ, He is very real, so pray, repent, turn from sin, and invite Jesus Christ into your life as Lord and Savior before it’s to late and you are thrown into the real Hell not this false episode of survivor he's putting out! Honestly, though, Buddhists wouldn’t even be bothered. Just sit there and meditate through the torment. Or meditate as you walk out into the dismal void of Gehenna. If you don't believe me, just look up the numerous ways Buddhists have died (self-immolation, for instance) and continued to meditate through it into death. Through the pain of literally being set aflame, they can hold their minds’ steady enough to stay calm, collected, and presumably, happy. Even if I couldn't experience any positive emotions, I’d rather spend my eternity in meditation than spend it walking all over my fellow human beings forever.

I'd fear that Gahenna wouldn't offer oblivion, but apathetic deterioration. The you would walk until your body collapsed, you'd lay until your body cracked and baked in the white sun. Till you become grey ash, not living, yet in being. To be ash, not being able to decifer between yourself and what ash surrounds you. Between being and thought. To exist without knowing you are, almost like bacteria, save for a long aching which never leaves. To be hollow, and spread among the desert. Of course, it would make more sense, even in a biblical perspective, that you'd return to oblivion. To be removed from being. But I've the mind to think it'd be worse than annihilation. Far worse.

I had a theory about this story that wandering ghenna long enough leads to heaven, or at least a final form of death, where you are released from pain The suffering found in Dis all seems to stem from the sins of man, through greed, lust, wrath, pride, hunger and bloodlust. All born from our desires for food, sex, and power. When wandering the field, you lost all those desires, not feeling pain or hunger or fatigue. For that time, you were free from hell. But did the narrator keep walking? He turned back because his desire to live overrode his desire to be free, and he'd rather be in eternal suffering so long as he can satisfy his carnal desires.

With that a plethora of ideas scenarios places etc can come out of it. I also find it amusing how the story's narrator says its a city and a wasteland but hell is expansive so you can add newer areas.

This is one of few stories I never get tired of hearing but that has lead to some questions, I wonder when you leave his hell do you come back to hell with the body you previously had through possession or your first body
@sTelevision-um1vf3 жыл бұрын
I would assume original body. Might just be an Implant of the soul and after the host dies both. In case of possession just you. I too listen to this a lot

So you live for eternity kinda and there is most likely billions in hell and your telling me not one person figured out how to make a crossbow?
@orangutex468 Жыл бұрын
its not like it can be mass produced without any factories or anything, and when someone makes a handmade crossbow it probably gets destroyed at some point or maybe there arent enough resources to build it

Damn, that reminded me of the worst stories from the Nazi and Soviet concentration camps. This might have been an inspiration - a total breakdown of humanity. Difference is, in the real camps there were some courageous people, there were escape or riot attempts. In this creppypasta you are pretty much hopeless.

Don't compare the Gulags to concentration camps, that's extremely disrespectful to the families including my own of Holocaust survivors.

@@dlf7789 and where I did that? I mentioned both as examples of places and times where humanity has reached total breakdown, which is valid. Also, you don't have a monopoly on the historic trauma - my family went through both the Siberian Soviet camps and Nazi German occupation.

@ThePessimisticTech-Priest3 жыл бұрын
So here is my question. If you are able to come back by possessing someone on Earth, couldn't you then repent your ass off to avoid going back? Even if it's not your original body, it's your own soul. Since it's the soul that is moving back and forth between plains of existence, that should theoretically work. You come back, eat somebody or whatever. After that spend your time running from the law, eventually get arrested, etc. Then you repent in prison, pray everyday, the usual. Obviously if there is some form of Hell according to the story, there has to be a Heaven or at least Limbo. Or is the idea that once you've been down there your soul is stained and can never truly escape?
@erenb.28062 жыл бұрын
@Bread Boi not really, since it's mentioned that people in hell have committed some sort of big sin.
