I did learn a few things in my short tenure with the Hot Rod Power Tour. I share those with you in the video. I hope these tips help if you're considering doing the Power Tour. You might even see me there next year. If I can keep my car together.

Sounds like a good time. Call me a wuss if you like, but AC is mandatory for me. I get no joy out of sweltering in a car. Fixing the AC in my diesel Lincoln was what sealed the deal for taking it to Carlisle this year.

I got rear ended in Chattanooga in my 66 mustang on the power tour, had to call it quits after that. But, the one drive I had was really cool and I can’t wait to do it again. It was my first attempt in my classic.

ETCG1 I hope to get it in the shop soon, but both rear quarters need to be replaced, tail light panel and rear valence as well as some frame pulling. It’s a risk you take driving anywhere I suppose. Keep up the good work man!

Heavy Duty cooling system - this can't be stressed enough. If your car can't sit and idle with the AC on for at least 2 hours straight and stay cool, you'll have problems on the tour. I've done part of 2 tours so far. Still haven't long hauled. I'm waiting to see the 2019 route to decide if I'm going next year.

Just an idea for a future ETCG1 video, talk about replacing different hoses, brake, vacuum, etc. I'm looking to replace some hoses in my EVAP system and realized I don't know what to look for when buying the hose in bulk. Can you use one type of rubber hose for replacing powersteering, coolant, EVAP lines, etc.?

my brother had a red Chevy like the one I saw in this video. 454 red with black strips. excellent condition. I kept it in clean for him, because he wouldn't Evan wash it. I waxed everything. inside the trunk, under the hood, etc. this was in the late 70s. when he tried to sell it , he had a hard time getting 1500 hundred dollars for it. unbelievable. then someone finally bought it and demolished it hitting a telephone pole.

Just a quick question because i hear a lot of back and forth on optimal running temps. I have a 5.7l from an old caprice in my 93 sonoma and temps are staying around 160-170°F. Anyone else think this is a little low?

7 out of 9 lives left on it so far, hopefully it'll be a bit longer before it spends the next one. And keep a better eye on that fuel system since it cost ya those two already. Should be all good when the next tour comes up.

Fuel system seems to be fine now, but I plan to switch to FI this winter. I do hope to make it again next year after the switch.

Sounds like the "Back to the Bricks" but on a larger scale. We wrapped up our tour a couple weeks ago. 6 towns/6 days. Brings awareness to the one day show held in downtown Flint Michigan in August of each year. This was the 9th year for the tour and we had a record 300 cars on it. If you aren't "car person" it will be hard to understand. You don't build any car because its cheap - its always more expensive than buying road ready fast car. You don't drive fast car because it have great fuel economy - fast cars always burn more fuel because power come from fuel.
