Tokyo is one of the hottest cities in the world in summer, and I’m not talking about temperature. Arizona and the Sahara are a dry heat. I’m talking about a sauna! And steam oven! ... and there a secret place to stay cool 😎 and it starts in Shinjuku. The next stream: • LIVE - A Shinjuku Summ... | Where is Shinjuku?
goo.gl/maps/VsvuoXAJxfz yup - a department store!

Yeah, here in Houston we often roll our eyes when we hear about the "heat waves" in other parts of the country... Around July & August we typically have highs of 98°F, with an overnight low of 78°F, and about 85% humidity! 😥

I remember being so hot in Tokyo! I went to the Sky Tree mall and the seating areas in the mall were still hot as can be so I would walk around and stop when I found a vent blowing cool air. Im sure i looked ridiculous but I really didn’t care it was horribly hot. Japan is still awesome though!

Temperature is one thing but they are currently experiencing sky high humidity so you can sweat properly and makes AC units work twice as hard. They are not roasting down there. They are getting hard boiled.

If Japanese sweat less (genetically) how do they then get rid of body heat? Or are Japanese more prone to have heat exhaustion? Or is it that they are smaller and weigh less that makes them produce less body heat to dissipate?

Here is a simple math formula that will get you close to the temp. You should be able to do it in your head without counting fingers and toes. Start with 40 C OK to figure out the fahrenheit temp. Take the C which is 40 now double that so now you have 80 Then add 30 you end up with 110 F. OK it' off by a couple but close enough. It works the other way around . It was 90 F here today so take away 30 you have 60 cut that in half you have 30 C that is close enough right?
