How To Swap A JL Rubicon Rear Axle - Part 2. On this video we start swapping a JL Rubicon rear axle into my 2018 Wrangler Sport S. My Jeep came with the max tow m220 (Dana 44) that has a limited slip differential. Upgrading to the Rubicon rear axle will gain us an electronic locker, bigger brakes, and 1.5” more width. We decided to upgrade a few things while we’re at it. We welded an Artec rear truss on the axle as well as upgraded the brakes and axle shafts. We went with brakes from Power Stop and chromoly shafts from Spicer Parts, this should make a pretty solid setup for the wheeling I do here in the Pacific Northwest! No, according to the dealership it’s lifetime fluid for the automatic transmission. Seems weird but I guess it’s a process to change if you actually need it done. Transfer case and differential fluid will need changed as you probably know, I need to do my transfer case soon. Thanks for watching the video!
