I did it but i had to break two plastic peices and sand down the sides so it can move, also mine has problem's when it goes on the classic trackmaster track switch, because the front wheel is smaller and i can take out the metal tabs and replace them, but when i put them back they won't stick and im afraid to superglue them back on, because i got to be really really really careful to not get a bit of superglue on the wheel, because i did it one time on a TM1 engine and i accidentally glued the tab with the wheel, so any suggestions?.

What if one were to swap out the Trackmaster 2 motor with one that allows it to freewheel?

It looks like a hard process, back in the old trackmaster motors, whenever it was off, there would be a gear that moves to a side, so the engine has access to freewheel without all the gears locking it.

Thats a good tutorial, but i need a simpler version of this, which is to switch traction tires; i tried to do this with my rubble diesel but when i swapped it to a tomy one, it ended up being too "big", i ended up failing on doing it

Ya like it says it can go on tomy or classic track but when it pulls something it fails and plus the dumb gear tires break off easily so ya mattel is just lazy because i fine with it not free wheeling because model trains cant do it either so ya im fine with that but the gear tires are just garbage

I know why that trackmaster trains makes a clicking sound when it runs its because you put the wheels in the opposide way it should be only one way to put it so if you have that problem put the wheels the opposide way and it will be a original trackmaster 2.
