The other thing I would say here is match your tone to that of the pt - if they are quiet and embarrassed, our tone should be quiet along with them too.

(In the USA) Moving past embarrassment to flat out refusing opposite gender care as Modesty... Women generally is given privacy and finally MEN are speaking up about their modesty and do not want opposite gender healthcare workers regardless of their title (RN DR LPN) when they are exposed, some do it out of respect for their wives, as their wife is the ONLY female to see him fully exposed and/or they just do not want opposite gender care regardless of any reason.... Try having a female nurse demanding it is HER right to provide care when the patient repeatedly refused her and left the clinic.... Would anyone feel safe and have faith this nurse is doing what is best for the patient or herself? She already broke her oath of first do no harm, what other rules/laws she would break?

What to do for plab2? If pt doesn't open up at all? We don't offer confidentiality?
