I travel with just a carry on (Thailand has plenty of little laundry shops so I see no need to pack a lot of things, no matter if I stay there for two weeks or two months). I am rarely in a hurry and I booked my flight home for 1700 or 5 PM. Plenty of time to get on the BTS near my hotel and then transfer to the Rail Link. Yes it takes longer than a taxi ride, but the price is so affordable I like it. And same thing when I arrive. I always arrive at BKK at about 1130 AM in the morning. No need to rush to get to my hotel in Bangkok. Take the Rail link, transfer to the BTS and head towards Nana, or Asoke or wherever. Of course the BTS not always go near to your hotel so you may just as well want to take a taxi from the airport and go door to door. Plan as you want

Thanks for the video. I will try to follow it for my first trip to Bangkok. I think it will be more helpful to have an idea where we are if you start with a physical map to show where the stations are and what directions the trains are going. As a first time traveler, I will be relying on maps so knowing where I am heading will be a plus.

it's all part of traveling, discovering how to get there, taking your time, might seem overwhelming but that's what I love the most about traveling. When I feel like I cant find my way, I sit down somewhere, have a coffee, regroup. It doesn't take long to find your way. That being said, I always get a thai sim card for my phone from the airport when I land. It allows me to use google map etc...Happy Travels !

If anyone is heading to BTS Nana either for a "stroll" or hotel, the main road nearest to the action is very dangerous therefore if you have suitcases take a taxi.

You mean the Electronic stairs . If that's what you mean you go up back to the trains and the lift that goes down goes to the exit and after that to the main road.
