Impressions take so much practice and patience to learn ❤👍they were the hardest thing for me to learn as an assistant, but once it was done and looking snazzy it was the best feeling ever! So fun yet so challenging. Love that about the dental world!

Love this!! This is how dental school feels all the time! Very difficult concept becomes easier over time with practice. Good stuff and thanks for the comment!!

Hey Stephen, quick tip. Remember to pull the upper lip up and over the front of the tray when taking a maxillary impression. This will give you a better roll and make cleanup much easier :)

Why are you using non perforated tray for alginate impression?
@stephenraydentist2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! A perforated tray is more necessary for an impression that will be poured up multiple times like a VPS impression in prosthodontics. With alginate, we pour it up one time and then it is not as accurate (1 time use within 15 mins of its setting). Rimlock trays are perfectly fine for alginates!

Hold on was it powder and then water?? Just kidding! As a dental assistant starting off my journey to become a dentist, I love your videos! They are very helpful AND thorough. I saw no gagging, so you did pretty well if those were your first impressions :) We usually tell the patient to "wiggle your toes and breath through your nose." It distracts the patient long enough for us to finish with the process!
@stephenraydentist2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for this comment!! Tomorrow we're actually injecting each other for the first time so the toe wiggling will definitely be utilized 😂😂! Best of luck with assisting! You're going to be great!!
