For me I think what really works well with the first photo is at first my eyes are drawn to the busy(visually) street, then to the man, and finally a look up in awe at the mountain. It in a way mimics the moment of relizeing the prescence of a massive force that you would get in real life .

On the sakura blossoms the ONLY thing i would have changed is the aperture, just a liiiitle bit lower to bring in more of the petals in focus
