You could have a notebook for that class and write as much as you can and then have a separate notebook to redo your notes in a way that you prefer. You could also try to record the lecture and then you’re able to replay and slow down what they’re saying

Summary notes for note taking chemistry: 1. Read through content and highlight text that are important (that your teacher emphasize, main ideas to capture the rough concept). Forces brain to comprehend. Ideally, read through course content before the lecture to reinforce what you already know. 2. Write and solve problems, check your work afterwards. This is my interpretation of your other video on how to do well in chemistry class. I think you had a lot of good information in that video on note taking. “Pre-read - previewing the text, making presumptions of the text for connections to previous knowledge so that you can build off it during the actual reading so that it’s easier to understand. Annotate/make lots of notes in a way that makes most sense to you, in your own words during your lecture and after. Summarize information into tables he says, yet I find splitting information into section summaries more convenient. However, I can understand the thought process since it further forces you to further condense important information into easily accessible pieces, which is a form of independent problem solving from my perspective as you build efficiency in summarizing important information through repetition. Group similar mechanisms together so that you can easily refer back to them later, and I said something along those lines already under “Pre-read”. Write down every single thing the professor wrote down whether in slides or information professors emphasize during lecture.”

This coming school year in September is my last year a senior high student. 12th grade and I'll be finally a freshman in college next year. Tbh, I'm not really organized in taking notes. I don't do highlightings but I do slight jotting down of notes. Math is my comfort subject and my notebooks/papers are a total mess. My classmates don't usually understand my notes but I always pass my exams with those lectures I've written. And I realized that being organized like how you actually tipped about is a great help. I'll def try this since I'm actually aiming for high grades and more knowledge so I could pass college entrance exams in my dream school. Ty

Paperlike Screen Protectors have been invented for iPads but okay, do you :) . It has the scratching feeling and sound when you write.

@@NathanWu to each their own, I don’t have to worry about paper or losing it or searching through a lot of notebooks, helps with the trees to an extent and everything is all in one app. Have you tried the protector on someone’s iPad?

But you have to read the text to highlight it... I DON'T GET IT 🤣
@My_ally3 жыл бұрын
@@NathanWu well, ideally we read and understand text through highlighting, but sometimes I run the risk of highlighting just for the sake of telling myself that I understood the text, without actually understanding 🤣 especially when it's hours before the test HAHA

Why is KZbin helping me be a better student than actual school is? No one tells you how to take effective notes, so when you are thrown into high-school there is absolutely no way to keep grades up. Thank you for your in-depth video on such a neglected skill.
@NathanWu3 жыл бұрын
That's unfortunately true. Schools throw so much info at you and expect you to know how to process it all. I hope I can be a big brother to you and pass on what I've learned from experience 👍

Especially some classes, they force you to take notes in Cornell notes form. When for some people, it wouldn’t help them study that way.
