🔷 QOTD: What was your favorite part of the video? Do you have any tips of your own for removing contacts?
@sodajor5 жыл бұрын
This is really helpful, thank you so much for sharing so many tips! After 15+ years of using contacts sometimes, you feel like I know it all but it's good to see that I can still improve and give my eyes a better treatment. I have two tips I always suggest: 1. When using contacts you're going to be picking at your eyes A LOT! so a good practice to me was washing my hands and trying to touch my eye (gently) to try to lose the fear of my finger coming into my eye and train them into not blinking as much when putting my contacts in or taking them out :) 2. If your contacts get a bit stuck some people tend to get desperate and tug at them ending up in hurting themselves; so to remove them just a couple eye drops on your eyes (the ones appropriate when using contacts obviously), let it soak in and then, a couple minutes later, try to take them out.

This worked wonderfully! After struggling for 30 minutes, I turned to KZbin and this video did the trick. The key takeaways for me were (1) do the SMALL kissing motion with your fingers and (2) keep your fingers dry. I was pinching from outside the contact lens, which was probably picking up moisture and preventing my fingers from sticking to the lens. I guess the silver lining to failing for 30 minutes is that I’m now more comfortable with messing with my eyes haha

This comment section is literally a safe place... I have a really bad anxiety and was dreading wearing my lenses but since I'll be starting college 2 weeks later I decided to learn how to put it and take it off. I put it to my left eye after 15 minutes but couldn't take it out. I tried to drag it to the left side and then take it with my fingers but lens got gnarled and I started having a panick attack thinking I was damaging my eye trying to take it out. It was so scary. Then I opened my laptop and found your video, trying to do your first method, I got it out on my first or second try. The key is dry fingers and that pinching technique. My fingers were wet till I watched this video I guess that's why I couldn't get it out. Thank you so so much for the video. Plus thanks a lot for the ones who wrote comment, all my friends do this lense process so easily I felt alone but seeing these comments people getting anxiety attacks I felt understood. I've been trying to get myself comfortable wearing contact lenses for the past year and a half, but I always dread putting them in because I know I have such a hard time taking them out. I seriously can't believe none of my eye doctors in the past have explained it (the pinching motion) to me like this. I got both of them out in literally one try.

If you're like me, before watching, I was almost at an epic anxiety attack! It's my first time ever wearing contacts, and honestly, I was a bit terrified. I finally was able to put them in after 45 mins. but taking them out was more than frustrating to me. I was truly getting scared. But it's like anything else in life the first time you are trying. Don't get discouraged. You'll get this, just like I did, and the rest of the contact wearing population. I will say that taking them out is a little more trying than putting them in. Just know that the more you do it, the easier it becomes, and this video is awesome! So stay encouraged. You got this!!!

I never comment on videos, but this one is one that I absolutely have to and thank you for! I’ve had multiple sclerosis for 23 years and suffice to say I don’t have great dexterity so, it was a very real struggle and very painful trying to get my contacts out. I can get them in like a champ, but getting them out was excruciating. It got to a point where I kept shoving them up under my eyelids. It was absolutely horrible. Then I stumbled upon this video and I sh!t you not, I did it on my first try using this method. I was absolutely blown away! what made all the difference was explaining the pinching motion with your fingers already still together. I got the right one out on my first try and was still apprehensive and thought maybe it was a fluke and then the left eye, same thing I got it out on my first try. I am totally blown away. This is an incredible tip and IT WORKS! I have terrible fine dexterity and even so, I did it on my first try with both eyes. I am so grateful. You truly have no idea what you’ve done for me. This is a game changer!!😀😊☺️

You could get contacts u put in once and wear and sleep in for 30 days. They are more expensive because they have a very high oxygen transmission. I have been doing that for years. Only time I had issues is when I wore them for 2 months or when they were hurting and didn't store them properly when I took a week break. I just thought I'd try daily contacts to keep protein build up down and extra clear vision. Less irritation? 😳 Hmm I don't know. I don't think I can deal with the constant hassle of daily in daily out. That's a lot of germs or dirt touching your eye. Maybe after I try this method. Who knows? I might stick with Air Optix Day and Night after all..

Like I said earlier!!! I Hate, hate, hate daily contacts. I usually wore Optix Day & Night for 1-2 months. After a while, I forget about them cus they're so comfy. But I wanted to give their Focus Dailies a try... Man, what's with the formula? Must be something they're made with because no matter how much I clean them, they never get to that comfy feeling. I either have irritation from the getgo and try to ignore it, or it comes later triggered by something random later..?? Sometimes one eye, or both. I've got a set of 30 and I've never had a problem free day. Taking them out is so Hard like 10x harder!! I feel like crying. They must be thinner. My nails are long I was so scared to scratch my cornea yesterday. When I *occasionally* struggled with Air Optix D&N they were still out by three to five tries. Been a contact wearer for years. Dailies was the reason I had to look up this vid for the first time. Trust me, the less you fiddle with a contact lens, the better. Man, I sure hope dailies aren't your first experience with contacts cus that would definitely make me give up and resign to glasses forever.
