Hey 👋 I just wanted to come back and say thank you! My first daisy has bloomed thanks to your advice. Spring is only a month away. I’m a first timer and so proud 🌼 I used a doggy doo doo bag to cover the pot

This video helps you get more plants from your own stock at home - we have taken the cuttings in December and are looking forward to more having more marguerites next Spring at no extra cost

Hello, I'm a complete novice and I wondered what kind of soil you use for the seedlings please or is it a mixture of soil/compost? Thank you. Dee

Hello Dee - thank you for watching our video and for your comment 💚 I am sorry to take so long replying but we have had the family down for an extended weekend and I am only just getting back to normal! Don’t use garden soil for your cuttings as it is not sterile but a very light potting compost with extra coarse sand will do the job very nicely Have a great rest of the week All the best Melanie and John 🌸

Hi. Can any kind of daisy be grown from cuttings? I love the pomponette daisy and would love to propagate from my existing plant. I’m in spring at the moment (austalia temperate zone). When do I take cuttings and how long after will it produce flowers? Thanks very much for your videos. Dee

Deepti Dhawan Hello Dee Thank you for watching our video - most daisies will propagate from softwood cuttings in the spring and should flower this year so you should be fine Keep safe and happy All the best Melanie 🌸

Hello @FionanDavidatNo12 - thank you for watching and for your question 💚 Our apologies for the delay in replying but we have been away - Yes you can propagate Marguerite Standard in this way but it will bush out without pruning Have a great weekend All the best John and Melanie 🌸

Hi , i have a yellow osteppreom daisies bush, I’m from Australia and it’s winter atm. My daisies are blooming and would like to know if I could take cuttings from them and pot them? I have never grown daisies from cuttings before, 😊

Hi Georgie - thank you for watching 🌸 and yes you will be fine: the warmer they are kept the quicker they will root and don’t let them dry out Enjoy your Sunday and all the best 🌻

Hi thank you for a great video. Did you add grit to your compost and if so how much please? Also I don't have a greenhouse can I put it in a cool bedroom windowsill over winter? Also how long do you keep the bag on for please? Thank You Natalie
@JohnHorseyHorticulture3 жыл бұрын
Hi Natalie - thank you for watching our video - Yes you can put grit in the compost just enough for water to drain through as you want the air to get to the roots and a cool Winter windowsill is fine - keep the bag on until your cuttings begin to grow All the best 🌸

Do you not use any rooting hormone?

Thank you - yes, it can only be beneficial but we do not give advice on chemicals All the best
