I just bought the Canon T7, and 2 days later I found your site on youtube and I subscribed. You are fantastic, and since I am brand new to photography you are teaching me a lot. THanks. I would like to win that tri-pod you talked about, but I just watched your video and its already July 1st. I wish I could win that, it would help so much. Thanks again. I also just signed up on Instagram for my first time also, and you were one of my first 5 follows that I created. Im 55, in not great health so my new healthy idea is learning photography for enjoyment purposes and it gets me out of the house once I learn how to use it correctly. Thanks once again.

I truly appreciate this particular tutorial! After I purchased my new Canon EOS M50, I found myself looking at the live view LCD versus the viewfinder. As a result, my pictures were sometimes blurry and videos were quite shaky. While I love the live view LCD screen, I have sought to make a concentrated effort to use the viewfinder. This have made all the difference. Now I use the live view LCD screen more when I’m using a tripod and the viewfinder for handheld shooting. 😊

Another excellent video. As an amateur and newbie, these videos are so helpful (so clear) in what can be a little overwhelming at times. If I may ask your opinion on something. I use Nikon and specifially for my main interest sports photography, the 70-300 VR. What are your views/advice on VR while using a monopode? On or Off. Is it as significant as with a tripod? Thank you.

When I'm using a monopod I turn the VR on. If your lens has it also select active VR - this mode is designed for use when tracking subjects so great for sports. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel. Paul @ Photo Genius

Thank you for your response, it is most helpful. Thank you again for these wonderful videos. They have been so helpful to me as a new recruit to photography. I had one of my first experiences taking sports shots recently and while some images had some issues such as focus off subject, blur etc, I was pleasently surprised at how most turned out, despite challenging circumstances - light, space etc. Thanks in no small part to what I have learned from your videos, I recognise what went wrong with those images that did not work. I am very familiar with the sport I was shooting, so that definitley helped a great deal also. Please keep these videos coming, they are very much appreciated. Best.

Hello Paul, thank you for all you help over the past weeks. Your videos make me excited about learning, and quite decent at taking my hobby to the next level. My question is about the aperture tip, does it apply to prime lenses as well as telephotos? Or just prime? Are you saying that a prime lens with a smaller aperture would make a sharper photo over a telephoto lens with a smaller? Or does the apply to either lens?

A third lens would have to add something to your kit that you currently don't have. If you desire a wider view the the 10-18mm lens would be worth considering. About 2-3 minutes in, after I had inched so far in I was practically on top of it, I captured a sequence of it walking while having it's wings closed, out to the sun to bathe 😊 Still haven't gotten around to making a .gif/whatever out of it yet though but it'll come!
