INTJ here - Glad to know I'm not the only person who spends whole weekends messing around organizing my books and movies in PKM apps lol! I'm in the process of moving a lot of my stuff in Notion over to Obsidian, so thank you for the inspiration to take it further - I hope you'll make some more Obsidian videos.

yeah ngl organising those stuff is really therapeutic! and i feel like obsidian allows you to recall/link those knowledge together better:-)

wow that’s impressive! aren’t you bothered by that notion not working offline and exporting data being really bad ? I like the possibilities offered by Notion but these two things really bugs me and I refrain from relying on it too much because of them

How did you get that tab at the top that shows all the tools? Like for highlighting, etc.

Thanks for this! I've been struggling between Obsidian and Capacities. Will you ever do a comparison video between the two since you have used both? :)
@melocreating Жыл бұрын
i might! but i dont think any time soon since capacities is still in beta!

I enjoyed this video !! I too am kind of a note app junky lol. I used to be a notion user (for like 4 years) but like 3 days ago I moved over to capacities after seeing your other video. I’m curious are there any other pros that you enjoy from obsidian vs other note talking apps??
@melocreating Жыл бұрын
mainly all the plugin options! i really enjoy using the quick add plugin, for example, i can add anything under a specific heading to any note with a hotkey (i use this for my daily log and book journal) maybe ill talk about plugins in another video!

Hi! i tried out yet another PKM app! what did you think? i also linked some other videos about Obsidian in the description if you're interested! (i will definitely be making more vids on Obsidian, so ask away if you have any questions!) Special shoutout to @nicolevdh for her super comprehensive and fun videos on Obsidian!!:-)

i would love to know how did you do the progress bar at the headings. Also, i am really curious if you keep using this app after one month :)

I consider Obsidian a "power creep time waster". It tempts you to tinker and toy with it trying to get some "perfect work flow" until you've wasted hours on it when you could have just used something more simple and gotten your work done and moved on with your day.

anyone who wants to procrastinate by “refining their workflow” is going to do that no matter what tool they use:-) to me, it’s just important that i jot down whatever’s in my mind that moment, then i dedicate some time in a week to organise all that, but everyone’s workflow’s different

to a lot of people, PKM could simply be a leisure activity, it’s therapeutic to put things together slowly and realise connections, so i guess a tool made for productivity doesn’t necessarily have to be about being super productive at all times, but again, everyone’s different:-)
