Actually the para 3 and pm2 are bushing pivots, kinda like a sebenza but a bit different set up. Measure the height of the pivot barrel not the width, ( the stepped part that the blade rides on). Then measure the width of the blade with both washers and compare both measurements. In order to have absolutely no blade play both measurements should be exactly the same. And if all components of the knife are perfectly flat the knife will have no blade play when full tight. But with full washer contact onto the blade and no blade play, having drop shut action is almost impossible to achieve. To me a slight amount of blade play on a washer knife is perfectly fine, especially on a axis lock or compression lock type of knife. If someone wants no blade play and drop shut action like a bearing knife then you gotta have a bearing knife.

A lot of spydercos don’t tighten up all the way because the length of the pivot screws into the pivot makes the screws on each side actually touch in the middle of the pivot and prevent you from screwing them in further. When I have that problem I just grind/sand a few mm off the length of the screws so they don’t meet in the pivot & will screw in further. If that doesn’t work, you can find some really thin nylon washers and actually put them in WITH the phosphor bronze just as padding & it won’t ruin fidget factor.

how can this happen at this price point ? i don't have this problem with Trivisa or Shooziz or Sanrenmu. but with Spyderco and Benchmade and other western brands. at 10 times the price. sure, expensive supersteel hence expensive machining. but what about QC ? warranty is great, but who wants to send a "premium" knife back and forth all the time ?

Good point... Only thing I can think of is the original tolerances/ specs for the PM2 / PM3 were set for a more forgiving material. Ie G-10, Micarta
