@@jaquarius5035 keyboard bindings are required for tap strafing, the reasoning behind that I’m unable to explain. Controller on pc can tap strafe due to access to steam controller configuration which allows you to bind keyboard buttons to your controller, unlike console. Someone else could explain better but I Hope that clarifies it a bit, cheers bro

Should have had a demonstration of what it looks like at the end so people could get a reference for when they get it right. It’s hard to explain but the camera movement feels more jarring than other normal movements. For anyone learning, the best way to tell if you’re doing it right is to do it off the double jump of an octane pad rather than a slide jump since you get so much more distance to judge the angle. You’ll be able to do a full 180 if you do it right so work towards that as you practice. You’ve got this!

@@RauKnowsAPEX a keyboard has (optimized FPS which definitely matters) alot better processing power custom keybinds before recently tap strafing you get new better more streamlined mouses and keyboards every year and parts every year we stick with outdated consoles and controllers that have horrible imput delay and can't be overclocked plus they break every year and a half and on top of all that you have your whole arm and shoulder to aim we have a single joystick and a thumb to make all of our adjustments you also have more buttons to press and more fingers to use so you can Shield bat and move Crouch slide and jump and ping all at the same time not to mention pinging certain things activating abilities all while doing actions that you normally would be incapable of doing if you were on controller

God I hope they remove tap strafing. I shouldn't have to learn trigonometry to be able to move well in a video game. There is zero possible explanation for the complete destruction of physics that is tap strafing. It is straight up immersion breaking. If you could smash your face against the keyboard and put your mouse in your butt and tunnel underground in apex, people would become amazing at it and anybody saying it's unrealistic within the rules of the game-world and immersion breaking would still be shouted down.
