Thank you for the sub! Voltage is just speed, so experiment with different voltages to find what works best for you, as it really depends on the machine you're using, stroke length, your hand speed, needle setup, type of skin etc.

Great thank you. Question, how do you cover a larger area that you can’t reach from one position and make it look seamless? For example how do you “sweep the entire floor with a small broom” (not just one small area of the floor) but make it look seamless like it was done with one giant broom instead? Thank you.
@tattooartsunlocked
@tattooartsunlocked Жыл бұрын
Hey, for shading larger areas I normally use pendulum shading with a RM, as you won't get any harsh edges with it, and you can slowly build it up.

When covering an area with a light even tone, is it ok to keep the needle in the skin rather than whipping the needle out as in pendulum shading?
@tattooartsunlocked
@tattooartsunlocked Жыл бұрын
Depends what you're trying to do, how light the tone is, how fast your machine is running, how fast you're moving your hand and which area you're doing it on, but yes.

I would say def from experience and seeing other artist pre made grey wash is not a waste of money have you seen how terrible some artist are with their grey wash? Is really muddy, I use empire ink and we’ll at least my greywash is always clean and consistent every time
@tattooartsunlocked
@tattooartsunlocked Жыл бұрын
I think muddy colours are a matter of poor technical application, not ink dilution. Washes are just a mix of black ink and distilled water, so I will always believe that paying over £100 for a few bottles of diluted ink, when you can buy the same ink and distilled water and make your own dilutions, that match your own style and fit your own needs, for 1/4 of that price, is a waste of money.

@@tattooartsunlocked def matter of preference I believe in consistency so I stick to it I want all my work to always look the same if not better and yes technique is def a big issue

Tbh, I think it’s more about developing a drop system for black and gray, that works for the artists personal style. People seem to think generic drop systems are perfect and jump into it. It’s not. Most artists on YT will even tell you that their drop system is a GUIDELINE. But I do agree. Until an artist CAN make their own graywash, though? I don’t think they should be doing that style on skin.

@@tattooartsunlockedblack washes are, yes. Some grey washes have whites in them to make them more opaque greys as opposed to transparent blacks.
@tattooartsunlocked
@tattooartsunlocked Жыл бұрын
@@RazorHanzo no, it doesn't. The Killerblack set is around €130-140, and they're all 150ml. A Killerblack black ink is €25. You're basically paying more for water. Buying a greywash set has never been cheaper than making your own, and it will never be. Also, every professional tattoo artist prepares their own greywash, just the way they like it, by counting the drops/ratio of ink vs water, so the claim that "you're always getting the same result" with sets obviously applies to making your own. How do you think professional artists keep their grey tones consistent? By using sets? Look, at the end of the day you can buy and use whatever you want, but the claim that sets are cheaper or better in any way is 100% wrong.

Hi for soft shading better is needle is more I tube or out needle more?
@tattooartsunlocked
@tattooartsunlocked Жыл бұрын
Soft shading is pressure based, which you control with your hand, so it doesn't matter how much of the needle is sticking out. I like to have mine sticking out more because it's easier to see where the needle hits.

Hi bro can i ask?what is the basic recommend the depth of the needle if you work in shading like M14 or CM ,RS? I know we have different skin and hand speed , but any recommendations for newbie ? What depth of needle ? Thank you
@tattooartsunlocked
@tattooartsunlocked Жыл бұрын
Hey, generally the correct depth is around 1.5mm or 1/16 of an inch, but like you said yourself, skin thickness may vary from one person to the other, and from one area of the body to another. You can check out my video on tattoo lining where I explain more about the correct depth and the different layers of skin.
