We just got a deaf puppy a few days ago. He likes to bite my pants when I walk by or my shirt when he is sitting with me. I'll take as many tips on being a new deaf dog owner as possible.

I have a deaf puppy. She gets between myself and the older dog and pushes her away. She can be quite aggressive and often snarls at the other dog, jumps on me and bites my hair and my hands.

Im struggling with this a lot. Thank you! My 2month old puppy bites.. not only for fun, but he bites when we go against something.. we feel so bad because we don't know how to stop it and he already made huge and deep scars on my hand and arms, to bleed. 😢 he has some kind of neurological problems ,very happy puppy.. but we dont seem to manage to redirect his bites of frustration.. his mom rejected him.. so it hard because he didn't have a mom to teach.. plus he is blind of one eye too

Hi I have a deaf dog for a year now. He’s my moms dog and because he’s so rough and not properly trained the cats don’t get along with him. He rips up new toys in under 5 minutes, and is constantly biting. It is a tough situation and unfortunately my mom took this on without thinking it through all the way and now I feel the burden is on me to train him and I’m lost. We paid more than $2,000 for training and nothing has changed. Is there any advice you can give me??

What about a deaf puppy who constantly tries to play with smaller dog but is WAY too rough. I think that's what the original poster has asked. How to stop the biting on another dog?
@ThePetParentingReset2 жыл бұрын
It's important to manage the environment for every dog, which will mean that in this case, your dogs will only be allowed to play together while supervised until your dogs can learn to play together respectfully. Encourage your more submissive dog to stand up for themselves. This may mean that you play with each of them separately and slowly integrate playing with them together over time so they can learn.

I just bought a deaf puppy that is a Boston terrier. She pees on a training potty pad but she poops on the floor and my bed and not on the potty pad. I really do not know what to do to make her poop on the potty pad. I make her use a potty pad because she I only 2 months old and does not have all her shots. I know as soon as she is trained she will fit in with my other female Boston Terriers. One of my Bostons is jealous of the puppy and I see her get depressed.

You're on the right path! Try adding additional pads in the area and when you know it's time for her to go potty, keep her in that area to potty. If you need to, when you clean up a mess, place some on the potty pad so she starts to associate the scent with the pad.

My friends dog barely responds to sound. We clapped, made noises, etc, but he didn’t respond 80% of the time. His ears didn’t move, he didn’t turn to look at us, nothing. I want another opinion, do you think he has hearing problems?
@ThePetParentingReset4 жыл бұрын
it does seem like he may be hearing impared. your vet can do a simple in office test, or refer you to a specialist ... but for me, I don't think I would go through all of that. Just start using more hand signals and work with your dog to figure out how communication can work best :)

Hi I accidentally became a momma for sister puppies who are about 12 weeks old maybe 10 weeks old but one of them is white and with a black spot on her tail and her Hind and she is completely deaf she's very smart pretty calm and her sister who is not deaf is very energy packed and naughty I am having the hardest time trying to train them the deaf dog seems to be doing better than the non-deaf whose name is Bella the deaf dog is maga and I was told that I should keep them together because one is deaf but I don't have it in me for the one let alone 2 so I'm going to need a lot of advice because I have to give these dogs the best life that I can I love them
@ThePetParentingReset2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that you don't think you can keep them, but yes, it might be better if they stay together, though it's not completely necessary. Your deaf dog will need adjustments made to help her learn, and having a friend around to emulate can be beneficial.

I don't understand- :( My dog Kenner is half blind and deaf But he won't stop biting when i'm doing my online homework, Since i'm so young it's probably why i don't understand. (12 yrs) I think it'd be a better idea to use a dog as an example to what you're trying to say maybe??
@knottypigeon7194 жыл бұрын
you can still train him! as he follows you for treat, show follow hand signal. give a thumb up and feed treat. if he bites aggressively, pull your hand away and gently rub where he bit. end the play for 15 seconds or so. when dog IS playing gently, give them thumbs up and rub hand gently to signify that’s what you want her to do, maybe give her treat. if the dog bites you while you’re not playing, try to give him a toy to play with instead

@@knottypigeon719 giving the dog a toy to play with is rewarding the bad behavior.

Thank you for watching and commenting! It is very difficult to find a good balance between giving out good information and doing all the things YT wants you to do so that they show your videos (ie: be at least 8-10 mins long so they can run ads)
@Yellowsnow694203 жыл бұрын
Why would I thumbs up a video before I even see if it’s any good? Also, just five minutes of the most basic editing would go a long way to making your videos not seem like one long ramble.
