Learning to sit is such a huge milestone and I know at least my kids get so frustrated when they want to sit but just can't do it on their own yet. Thank you for this! My baby is showing signs that she's ready to start sitting, so i figured I'd find some more info on how/ what to do. Also, I've heard "ditch the bumbo, it's bad for your baby!" online, but I never knew why. And now I know it's because it's not actually helping them learn! So good to know! But it's comforting to know that it's not completely bad, just not good for learning

Wow! Some really great information in here! I didn’t realize all the things we used to do when they were baby were actually helping them into getting ready for the sitting position. Like the one holding them up on your knees.

Thank you so much for this! My daughter is 10 weeks and has always been pretty ahead when it comes to tummy time so I was looking for ways to expand her floor time and build towards other skills and these suggestions were perfect! She's not quite at the wobbling stage yet but she loves sitting upright assisted and I can see she's starting to gain those muscles :)

You could try starting in sidelying position and coaxing him/her with a toy. Usually happens 4-6 months
