Yes there are detailed teachers notes for each lesson so it would be possible to use this method to prepare students for the exam, however, I'd encourage you to do research on some of the many IELTS sites online to help with your teaching. www.ielts.org is the official site and a good place to start.

Thanks. Off2Class is primarily aimed at providing online tutoring materials so doesn't take care of scheduling and invoicing. I'm not familiar with My School Books, but yes you would need a different app or platform for these features.

The Off2Class placement test is free and tests a student's competency in grammar, listening, reading, writing and speaking but it's not an IELTS test. You should be able to find IELTS practice tests online with a Google search.

Thanks Geoff. I've used different payment packages depending on the number of students I've had. The good thing about Off2Class is that their 'Light' package is only $7 per month for 2 active student accounts so if you're just starting out with one or two students, it's a really affordable way to purchase ready made IELTS (or general English) lessons. You can always upgrade or downgrade your account at any time to suit your current number of students and budget.

Would this be useful for a teacher from the United States? I heard that students have to stick to either American or British spellings and pronunciations in the exam. I'm worried it will cause confusion since I am not an expert on British spelling/pronunciation.

Hi Lori. Yes this would be useful for a teacher from the United States. You don't need to be an expert in British spelling or pronunciation to teach IELTS.

Off2Class does not provide a platform like Skype but you can integrate Zoom (a video conferencing app similar to Skype) into your Off2Class account by adding your personal meeting ID to your profile. However, I prefer to just start a Zoom (or Skype) call and share my screen with the student so they can see the lesson materials at the same time as me.

it's not free you have to pay to be able to have access to the material, as almost 99% has plus. so a free plan doesn't exist and customer service is poor.

The team at Off2Class have just released a Free plan, which includes access to 150 general English lessons and you can add 20 students to this free account. To access the IELTS materials you do need a Premium plan but for $16 per month, I think this is good value for the amount of IELTS, TOEFL and Business English lesson materials you can use. I've found the customer service to be excellent and you can send them a message if you have any questions by clicking the chat icon in the bottom right hand corner of their website.
