This is so timely! I am about to bring my second kid into AAR , and I have been trying to figure out how to do that. It would be awesome if they developed digital word card like they have the digital tiles. That way you could select a student profile and lesson, and it would have all their current word cards, and you could mark which ones are mastered. No more need for lugging physical word card boxes everywhere for multiples kids.

Thanks for this video! I have 3 in 3 different levels now. You could always make copies of the cards in the sheets they come in if you needed two (or more) sets and then cut them out. I always laminate just the phonogram and leap word cards because those are used daily. The word cards I cycle through 10 a day so they are not as frequently used. (Though I did laminate the prereading cards because my 4 yo is always a mess lo)l 🤪

Yeah those pre reading cards are worth laminating when you use them with littles

The do sell the word cards individually for $26.95. You have to email customer service for a special link. I’m not sure why they don’t publicize that, but it’s in their fb group.

We use it as a supplement for our older kids!!! We should set up a binder for it especially as my younger daughter has started this curriculum as well!!! Im going to buy a 20 min sand timer for my youngest!!! My older kids we use a 5 or 10 min timer if we need to!!! Often we just have to go over a couple of phonics with the older kids!!! One by one tho!!! My older kids struggle with certain phonics and each kid is different with these phonics struggles!!!

Hi! Thank you SOOO much for all of the information, I really needed this guidance from your videos! I have 2 kids and plan to use the curriculum for my pre-k kiddo and my 2nd when old enough. I have ADHD and struggle with organization, so I am so very happy to have found your videos! I plan to deconstruct the student activity book like you said, but question: roughly, how many page protectors would you recommend for level one? I found a binder with them already bound in the binder, just not sure of the sheet count needed! Thank you!

I’m so glad this could help. I use exactly 1 protector per lesson so level 1 would require 53

Since you put your reading cards in the binder, how did you keep track of which ones were mastered for each child when they were all at the same level?

I store them in the box once we introduce them.

We gave up on AAR after finishing level 1 with one kid and failing level one with 3 other kids when trying to use it as directed. It was tears and frustration for all four.

I still can’t bring myself to get rid of AAR 1&2. We do still use the readers for extra practice. We have been thrilled with Happy Cheetah. My daughter with auditory processing issues is finally making progress! I am thinking through how to utilize our AAR materials using the Happy Cheetah methodology. Because I still want my younger neurotypical children to have the phonics foundation but I find teaching Happy Cheetah so much easier.

You can laminate with packing tape if you want and if you have a kid who loves doing that you can have the kid do ten cards a day over the summer my kids are messy so I like it to be drool food drink proof 😂❤

Would you happen to have any tips on the fluency sheets? My son is on level 1 and we are starting to have 2 pages of practice instead of 1. I know the back has tips but aren't really helping. He is doing OK with them but would hate for him to start to hate it and feel frustrated

I put them in sleeve protectors and let them cross of words or phrases as they read them with a dry erase marker. I let them jump around if they want on the page and they enjoyed getting to decide what to read. We also would do things like read this section then get a dance break etc
