Helping children with autism to grasp the concept of time can be a crucial step in their development of life skills and independence.
The reason for teaching this is self-evident. Interacting with others and adhering to schedules are the foundations for more nuanced skills like time management.
Some children with autism often struggle with monitoring and controlling time and find it difficult to gauge what time it is or how long it will take to complete a certain task.
By teaching them the concept of time, they will begin to put rational order into their lives and make sense of what is going on around them by learning about the past, present, and future.
