Stephen Shore: Uncommon Places. In 1973 Stephen headed out on the road alone in his car with his plate camera in the trunk and just started shooting random places on the road for weeks. He then did it each year from 1973-1981, the results are uncommon places. The book is rad af.

Before images were splattered over the Internet, I would crave rock magazines, photo mags, and National Geographic. I'd read the stories, but, the great joy was the images. Looking over the photographs multiple times as if I had not noticed something within. That's all lost now. Swiping and turning pages are entirely different. Great episode. Please keep 'em coming!
@sundaynightdrunk13 күн бұрын
Rock magazines had some fantastic photography. I remember carefully cutting out pages to hang on my wall using loops of scotch tape back in the '70s. I'd love to have some of those shots now, to frame and hang again.

if you ever make a photo book, please please please PLEASE, don't make it a limited drop, I'm 15 in the middle of highschool, and you are by far my favorite photographer. the reason why I am saying please not to make it a limited drop, it is... tough for me to get ahold of the limited drops that you do (I think I speak for more than just myself when that is said), and I wish that I could've gotten each and every one of them. But the photobook would absolutely be the one that id be saddest about if I missed out on it. So, back to my original point, PLEASE don't make it limited edition, and once again I think I speak for more than just myself when I say that. :) P.S. (am loving the new series, already I'm going to have to try to get my hands on this photobook too! great vid!)

such an amazing story Pete, thanks so much for sharing. Jeff truly brings the art of photography to life with the interesting compositions and unique angles. Funny enough Ive always loved wide angle composites for the same reason, as you get a unique feel and perspective of the photographer's vision. I started doing them in 2006/07 on film and would scan/merge the shots in PS. i even did a vertical pano of a rainy vancouver street with oak trees, on film!
