Those squares in the names are Chinese, Korean, or Japanese characters. Unless your Windows is also set to Chinese, Korean, or Japanese as well, the characters will display as squares. There is nothing inherently “hacked” about them, but of course they could be, just as any other server can be, including ones in English or any other language.

Yea those hash marks just indicate its a Language or Characters the game does not recognize so it cant display the full name. I join them all the time and 99 times out of 100 its just normal servers from different countries. In my experience the only sure ways of knowing is by the hosts level being over 60, weird weights that don't match up with the animals level, & excessive amounts of max levels, rares or max weight diamonds. Also congrats on the albino, ngl I'm really jealous since I have been grinding for one recently haha

I’ve been having lots of issues with people using mods mostly speed mod. If you see anyone moving fast like an atv and not on an atv watch out!! The biggest test for me finding modded servers is 1. Seeing what level they are 2. Checking the map (there is a mod you can place more then 16 tents on a map) 3 check how people are moving on a map (speed mod). 4. Check every lake. If at every lake you find a diamond it’s been hacked. When I played on my hubbys map he had two diamond capes drinking at the same lake but he doesn’t use mods it was just plain luck. On Cuatro I had two muflon diamonds in different herds drinking at the same lake but I don’t mod either (again it was just luck). So you really need to check EVERY lake or even as you move around if all your seeing is max weight animals leave! Love your vids DD…my hubby and I love your vids and we play COTW for date nights. In my experience name has nothing to do with it. I've gone on a ton of names with those symbols in them, I've also gone of plenty of modded servers by accident, none of the hosts had those symbols. For me, you just check the animals to see if the server is or not.

I've always wondered how being kicked from multiplayer works? I've been told it's connection issues but at least never from my side... sometimes I'm kicked at the beginning, sometimes when I've already been in for at least 15 mins. One time I was running to a killed mela puma and then kicked :( makes me wonder whether that multiplayer was also modded and the host was somehow able to see the kill I'd made to claim for themselves

Roughly 260yds to the left of the cabin u were at when u shot the albino, i got the 2nd diamond mule deer in 2 weeks and ive been grinding for well over a year and about 2 weeks ago i spine shot a 319.7 mule deer which i considered a diamond and today i finally killed a true diamond mule deer that scored 321.2 and i started a new account about a month ago and ive already killed technically 2 diamond mule deer. And on my first savegame played for over a year i never seen a lvl 5 ever and my biggest was a lvl 4 that was 307.6.

Once I joined a Silver ridge server and I started with my normal checking of elk at the pond with the larger island in the middle and noticed I had a lot of lag which what irregular and then right when I went to look to the left of the outpost there was a herd of like 50 elk, I went to another hotspot and there were 2 giga herds one had like 30 male elks which most being mid to high 4s with like 1 medium or diamond potential in each herd normally. I went on to find some other kinds of herds and I learned that it basically multiplied any herd by like 10 or something because I found like bison herds of 70 and pronghorn herds of 80 and so on, the craziest 2 where the heard of 10 mountain lions and like 60 Turkeys. Absolutely insane

I have used mods but never when playing others then my spouse who doesn't play much. Most I used was one to extend the disappear distance from 400 to 700 and a realistic pricing mod for ammo and weapons. So I don't mind mods but if you're modding for easy diamonds and high ranks .. yeah no that's not fun.
