We choose and decide what we give our attention to. The voice of hell speaks to us as us and we think these thoughts are ours alone. These hellish intrusions find a foot hold in the nature of and activity of self-centeredness, self-righteousness, well, just about any combo word that starts with self. Since these thoughts are 'my' thoughts, they have an undue weight and importance. Hell thoughts always have a narrative that they are playing to an audience (us) hoping we buy into it. If one can see the foreign nature of these thoughts and their agenda, there is a possibility of being free from it...but not as long as we still call them ours. So, circling back, we choose and decide what we give our attention to. We may hear the hell thoughts, but do not have to listen to them. The Lord is within and we can choose and decide to listen to those words, that agenda, which is what we truly desire for our happiness. We give faith to either the higher or lower power and they will guide us to very different destinations. Great job guys. I can attest to what you say here.

Thank you for this video, I am fascinated by this concept and Swedenborg explained and delivered it so well! It makes me sad to think of many kind people I knew in church, who never had this knowledge and struggled with all kinds of thoughts and mental problems. All while thinking everything was coming from themselves... What a burden to have to live with so much inner strife all while thinking you own mind creates it. It's like... does my subconscious dislike boredom or what, why am I doing this to myself? And then we start going into mental health crises, doctors, treatments etc. But if Jesus were by our side, he would chase all these voices away from us and we would have peace and quiet! It makes me think of it as a bit of an unfair fight, if people don't know that some of their thoughts actually originate elsewhere.

I go to a Catholic church. I'm often disappointed that our church doesn't address these things 😕 Our homily this Sunday was about how we have to choose who to serve, God or ourselves. But, the whole issue of evil influence was ignored completely. It wasn't very helpful.

How was that not helpful. Even if you reject the truth of choice (which you can't nor can you opt out) It compelled you to make a choice. You choose whether you see it as the truth or not. Where the truth leads you to can be seen as objective or subjective. How you it perceive it depends on which side of love you most want to be on. Love is objective truth. Fear (the mirror opposite of truth {equal yet opposite} is delusion. Isn't that what Swedenborg teaches.

@James-qe4fm I didn't find it helpful because it did not address all elements at play. By only commenting on humans and God, I felt it left so many things out of the conversation. As if to say all evil comes directly from the individual human, and that human has nothing else influencing them. Also, it seems there is a general avoidance of discussing this subject of evil or evil influences within some churches today. I think we should acknowledge the existence of the darkness that is undeniable.

I agree. Religion shies away from evil because it has to teach evil. Teaching evil(fear) is the only way it can sustain itself. If it teaches the truth, it teaches itself out of existence. Evil is Fear. Fear is the absence of Love. God is Love. We were created in the mirror image of Love. God is omnipotent. We are virtually impotent. God's default state is Love and his love is infinite/static/fixed. Our default state is Fear, and that state can change depending on how we chose to live. Only God can create true love (Unconditional Love) we can only create Fear. Any love we create is a fearful (conditional) love. Love is Truth. Fear is Lie/falsehood. Fear twist Lie into Truth and Truth into Lie. Every time we are fearful it is because we have either convinced ourselves that some Lie is True, or some Truth is a lie. Usually both. Love is Paradise. Fear is suffering. By design, it will either convince us to surrender to the truth or surrender to lies. That is the Ultimate choice. Surrender to God and sacrifice self or surrender to self and sacrifice God. That is why Christianity is the only true path. It and only it teaches that. This is why Christ said the only way to the Father is through Me.

The idea is not that our minds are CONTROLLED by outside forces, Randy, but rather our mind is INFLUENCED by both good and evil forces. "Influx" is the word Swedenborg used, and our free will comes into play by CHOOSING which flavor of influx we want to go with. Do we entertain and enjoy and invite back the vibes from hell or the vibes from heaven?

I find that along with my daily meditation, I feed my brain (from the Heart!) constant feelings of goodness and compassion for others from God, in such abundant quantities from Him, that I have more than enough to give to others daily......transforming myself and those around me. When I feel like that, there is little room for negativity. It's like wanting to live the ancient Stoic's (philosophers) life. You can't just read about it, you have to live it, and be persistent in living those qualities. Current science has found that the human heart holds a brain as well, containing over 40K neurites! The human heart tells the brain what to do. It's fitting to know that the first organ to develop in the womb is the heart. I think God's spark is found in the human heart. Bottom line, don't let negativity seep into you daily, especially aroused by all of the 'distractions', out there. Invest on what is 'inside'. Be persistent in feeding your mind good thoughts. I am grateful every day that God has shown me the way. Your show proves that every day as well, thank you!!

I see this dimension of reality as Heaven and Hell. The lower realms, below this realm, are Hells, where there is no Light, only misery and suffering. The higher realms, above us, are Heavens, where there is only Light, peace, bliss, paradise. This dimension is in between those two extremes.

Several times a day I think about God and speak to him just to thank him or tell him that I love him. I’m starting to think that it just may be something that I must live with.

He wants you to hate mother and father and follow him, in some esoteric obscure way. If you say you saw him face to face while you were awake,id love to hear about it. @mikieemiike3979 it wasn't that I saw Christ face to face. I was simply surrounded by His presence. I was in a state of spiritual confusion and He revealed himself to me. Every cell in my body and all of creation was literally telling me Christ. He filled me with the most love I've ever felt by far. He made me one with Him and all of creation. I'll never forget it. His was is the way of love. All He want is for us to love God and love one another. That's the sum of the prophets and the law.

Forget free will as none of us chose to be here, we didn't choose to be born into the situations we're born into. We don't choose the state of our economy nor which country. I believe that God has revealed to me much of the same truths He revealed to Swedenborg; however, this site presents these revelations as being superior to the revelations of Christ. Christ states that the only way to the Father is through Him; yet you seem to teach that the true way to the Father is through Swedenborg. I would not be taking issue with that if you didn't identify as Christians. All I am saying is that if Swedenborg is the true Profit/Messiah then why call yourselves Christian?

Hi, James. We do NOT consider Swedenborg do be the Messiah, but rather a prophet or revelator, like those who wrote down the books of the Bible on behalf of God. No, the true way to the Father is not through Swedenborg. It is through any way that a person finds to connect with the Lord. We call ourselves Christians because we, like Swedenborg, consider the Lord Jesus Christ to be the one God of heaven and earth. Some find a better understanding of the Lord through the information in Swedenborg's books, and others don't. We want everyone to choose the way that works best for them. Thank you for sharing those beautiful insights about the power of Divine Love. That is indeed what the Lord came to earth to show us! To "show us the Father" is to show us God's Love, and the path to get there.
