Was that a top secret military aircraft, or a classified satellite or a meteor burning through the atmosphere in your time-lapse? We show you how to tell the difference.

Thank you for making this. It really helped us. We referenced your video in ours, so others could see where we learned this as well. You did such a great job. Thank you!

Yes I think I know the difference between meteorites and aircraft. Then you eventually get some that don’t follow any pattern. Thanks for helping discern what to look for. I fine many don’t have red or green lights at all.

There are some other factors that I didn't mention in the video including how close to dusk and dawn the object appears making it more likely to be a satellite, and things like if the object changes course (likely to be an aircraft) and whether the object appears to travel from horizon to horizon. There is always some subjectivity involved, Especially with the complications presented by the StarLink satellites.

@@taosjay yeah none of them seem to stick to a exact format. Usually nightly I will have just a random flash. Looks like a star just turned on and off. In a millisecond. At 1st unthought it was a micrometeorite just very small tail making it look like just a tiny star. But I’ve slowed it down and reversed just a random blink. With no others. My mind starts to wander to of many a supernova millions of light years away. Or old rocket debris tumbling ,flashing in the process. Occasionally I’ll get a blink then a second later another blink a little further away. On a line. But not across the entire shot. Maybe 3/4 blinks. Then nothin. Then other day I caught a typical blink and just as it blinked my neighbors roof light up for that same exact millisecond I mean what are the chances they both occurred at the same millisecond. Nothing else lit up and the blink was so tiny you can’t even see it with naked eye. I go frame by frame when bored and I find strange things that happen so quickly they are not visible. It’s only one frame and I can’t even see it on regular speed. Very interesting, the unknown of space and our workd
