Summary on how to tell if your Apple Airpods (2nd Generation, Wireless Charging Case) are fake:

There are a lot of these fake Airpods for sale around the internet so just be careful. Sometimes the box looks better than the ones I showed, and sometimes its more obvious. While they still work as headphones, it would be pretty unfortunate to get scammed by someone selling them saying they are real.
The safest thing you can do is buy directly from Apple or a real store. Amazon usually has them cheaper than Apple's full price.

I have fake AirPods that didn’t even try to look too close to it but honestly I think it’s not bad actually…. Having real AirPods and fake ones are not as bad as some people may think it really is. I prefer the quality vs the price and how much money you really spend on something. Having expensive stuff doesn’t really change you as a person unless you start to be a very braggy and mean person because you want to show off your parents money. the fake markings are real on the second generation non wireless charging, the CE is in the left, also a am good way to check if your airpods are real is to check bluetooth model number, if it’s A2031 or A2032 it’s real (for the second generation)

This is my test for determining if AirPods are real 1. Look at the back and if there is text Designed by Apple Assembled and in China (Some Fake AirPods already have this) 2. Look at the top inside the AirPods charging case and if there is writing it’s real 3. Put the AirPod black dot sensor on your camera and if you see a purple/pink glow it’s real 4. Audio delay, if there’s audio delay more then 0.1 seconds it’s fake, real AirPods have almost no delay and you can check this with a video

It's very hard to tell now. I've seen fakes with all the barcodes on the box as well as serial codes on the actual case. You just never know. If you want real then buy only at apple. Otherwise .. I wouldn't pay more than 80 for any other pair.
