South Main Auto Repair LLC thank you Eric for stopping by. I been experimenting with this setup for a while. It does work but it works better if you can position fuel pressure regulator closer to fuel rail. Interesting is that signal is more clear on returnless fuel systems.

Have you tried putting your ebay transducer in AC mode and zooming in? I see meaningful pulses on mine, one for each injector. Maybe not as sensitive as First Look, but it seems to work.

Louis Pasnik You can AC couple your signal if signal is very low and you can’t see it on your scope. There is nothing wrong by doing that. I generally don’t use it if I can see my waveform on DC settings. 👍

great video KY like the way you think that is a nice build with the regulator i have a firstlook sensor sentex i would love to be able to do what you did on returnless hondas with no fuel pressure test port and no fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail i cant seem to find any honda adapters to get into the fuel system. any ideas? happy newyear

What I did for my Chrysler adapter was go to the junkyard and cut parts of the fuel line off of a similar car. Then I used that to create my adapter for the fuel pressure gauge. That is how I made my adapter you can try a similar method for your Honda. Hope this was helpful thanks for watching.

Hey KY home garage man. I got all my parts to do this test on my 04 Honda. I use the firstlook sensor and got a Lucas fuel pressure reg from eBay. I noticed in the video you supplied fuel on one reg port and plugged the other port my question is on my pressure reg I can't tell what is the supply port. And what is the return port as if the regulator was a working part of the car. The diameters are the same. I'm thinking the supply port is in line with the vacuum port any suggestions. Wouldn’t you have a different in cylinder not getting fuel in the compression of that cylinder like doing the compression test with a scope

orville58 lack of fuel will not affect cylinder compression but if you have ignition problem of injector that spraying to much fuel it’s possible to have cylinder wash down I that will affect compression for sure. Thank you

Could you not put any ignition coil or injector, on another channel & count down the firing order- to the unknown failed injector, assuming that was your scenario ?

pc zapp you are right I should use another channel with a single injector firing and use firing order to find bad injector. This video is for information purposes only to show how to make device to use it on fuel systems without fuel pressure regulator. This doesn't work on "any fuel system" modern cars have high fuel pressure with no service ports and pressure is controlled electricity not by vacuum. But the information is still good, keep up the great videos!

savagepunker you are correct. This will not work on GDI systems but it will work on any port injection fuel system regardless if is return or return less design. Thank you
