Thanks for this! In case anyone is still having issues after re-crimping; it could be the cable to badly bent, has exposed copper, or is next to a high frequency cable somewhere in the structure. If that happens and it's internal, you may have to pull through a new cable (using the old one).

Hi mate, Any idea what means when pin 4&6 light up on the remote part but it is just not as bring as others? I am testing cable already in the wall and I am not sure if everything is 100% alright. When I test different cable, lights are as bright as expected. Thank you Regards

If it's consistently the same lights on the same cable, there might be something wrong with the connection, but since they're still lighting up they may still work. We just recommend testing it with a camera or another device to see if it can connect to the network.

If the cable run uses a standard RJ45 connection, then yes.

If one of the pins isn't lighting up, is there any way to tell which of the two ends has the problem so that we know which to cut and replace instead of cutting both ends?

Unless you can physically see on one of the connectors if something is incorrect, then I would go ahead and replace both ends just for sanity purposes!

if you take at random, you have 50% chance of it being the faulty one, IF the problem is on only one end... I think it's very unlikely that the same wire would be crimped incorrectly on both ends, unless there is a problem with the crimping tool or something.

I have a cable going from my patch-panel to my bedroom. All lights light up in the right order, but the network doesn't work... I've tried different ports in the switch and directly from the router in my patch-panel, as well as different cables. The NUC that's used in the bedroom works when connected to other jacks in the house, same with my laptop, just not with the jack in the bedroom... Do you have ANY idea what could be wrong (except the cable going in the walls that I really would like NOT to have to replace...)?

Cables will be naturally swapped or changed position if you are testing a roll over or crossover cable. Why not test these two types of ethernet cables and show us!
