I think your soil has to be moist before the ph meter works correctly.

Hi , my front garden gets the sun in the afternoon, I grow some tropical plants out there , and my back garden is sometimes an oven for sun rise till 3pm . I prefer plants that like shade . My soil is clay , and I plant in pots . Happy gardening.
