Thanks for explaining the psychic of the paint as a beginner I was feeling the dot chain with one dip of tool was not possible as my colours were this much thick that weren't attaining the required result!!!

Thank you Mark for this video as I have this problem although I’m slowly changing my paints to decoart Americano paints which I find are brilliant ,it’s a waste with all my other paints so I shall try and find some of this 👍😍

As usual, I love your videos. Can you use the floetrol on glass? I paint on wine glasses and to cure them I bake them. Can you do this with thinning with floetrol?
@susang19523 жыл бұрын
I see some responders actually water down the floetrol, but you said you don’t do that. Is it better full strength or does it matter. Also I bought the kit that came with paint. The paint pots are the perfect consistency, do you blend them yourself with floetrol and put in pots?

You can also use water

For a moment I’d have sworn it was JK Simmons doing this .

Thank you so much for sharing this find with us, Mark!! I tend to reach for the Liquitex pouring medium; how do you feel this compares to the Liquitex product? The Floetrol seems to add a nice gloss; I like that! Thanks, again!!
@MarksMandalas5 жыл бұрын
I have used other Liquitex products but not the pouring medium. Floetrol is actually a paint conditioner but is also often used as a pouring medium. I may try Liquitex so I can have a first hand opinion but it is so much more expensive it would have to be 10 times better than Floetrol which I don't think is the case from what I have seen reading reviews from others. I am glad you find this video helpful! :^)

Hey you referred me from the facebook group earlier today! Great video but I dont have any of that stuff and wont be able to get it any time soon because of covid. Would a person be able to use silicone oil?
@MarksMandalas4 жыл бұрын
I have never used silicone oil but it sounds like it is more of a lubricant so it may interfere with paint sticking. You can try it but I would just try with a little bit of paint and try it on something that you aren't concerned with being ruined incase it doesn't work.

I mix 1 part water with 3/4 Floetrol…..no need to add extra drops of Floetrol...mixes fine with the paints

I really like how affordable Floetrol is. It's price combined with how little I use at a time I splurge and use all Floetrol. It is nice to know about this other option when using larger amounts of paint.

My MIL has some really old acrylics, maybe years old. Do you think this stuff might work on those?
@MarksMandalas5 жыл бұрын
I think the Martha Stewart paint I used in this video is pretty old. That brand usually is on the thick side but not that thick. It may be worth a try. The good thing is Floetrol isn't very expensive.
