1. Don’t write a code, take paper or whiteboard 2. Understand problem 3. Decompose your problem into pieces (break down into components) 4. Write algorithms on the paper.

Does writing algorithms mean writing out the technique you’re going to use while coding? For loop/while loops, if statements, OOP?

After countless features implemented for work, I've finally decided to analyse the problem first before writing any code. After 2 hours of writing on paper, I felt like I knew exactly what to code to implement the feature. Way more productive!
@rein556

wait dont programmers do that by default? As a beginner, I always first understand the problem, and make a basic flow chart, on how I can implement the solution, then I type it into code
@aussieraver7182

@@rein556 You are right, you should. But I learned programming from the Internet, not school, so I never learnt it correctly. I just straight away wrote code while Im thinking of the problem. I've never noticed it as an issue until I started working a production environment (i.e work). It's been 2 years now and I've learn alot about software, especially archtecture and good design.

1. Always understand the problem first by writing down exactly what it's that you are building and what functionalities it has. it answers WHAT question 2. Deconstruct the problem. This is important. breaking down problem into sub-problem sometimes not enought coz that sub-problem is still large so in those cases you should keep breaking problem into sub-problems until that problem is reduced down into a single problem that can't be broken down any more and managable on it's own 3. Write Algorithm on how you are going to solve those sub-problems 4. Refactor. This one improves you as a coder and helps you think objectively and helps you when you work with other developers 5. Try to find the solution to your problem somebody else already wrote and critically read their source code 6. Repeat this process infinitely and you become hero programmer

I wasted a year in programming as all my mates were good in solving problems and I was not able to do none of it. I spend most of the time on watching tutorials and learning syntax still not been able to solve problems even Teachers of my university didn't even taught on how to approach a problem(actually I don't know as most of time i didn't even paid attention in their classes) then after all this I started just copy pasting codes now after a year I knew my mistake . i wish i could have watch this earlier.

What was your mistake
@AnalyticalSentient
@AnalyticalSentient 4 жыл бұрын
@@omikulsum5312 I think it's quite implicit without having been explicitly stated in the comment lol...I'm going to take a gander though and speculate that the mistake was basically the tendency of rote tutorial and syntax learning (the poor results of which later led to the desperate resorting to copy pasta), rather than smartly using a whiteboard break-down method (or some other such technique) to meaningfully figure out problem solutions and thus also develop accordingly better levels of progressive understanding.

This was a nice one, But I think, Since it was a challenge, and chances are high that, those who are or will be watching this, will want to see now the real things that is, literally you coding up the challenge so that there is a match and comparison of approach theory and mapping it on real coding as a video. This would make this more end to end and more intuitive. You can still create a video. Hi Clever Programmer, I have a question? JavaScript out of all the other languages is the most confusing. I know Java Is considered an Objected Oriented mid-level language, Haskell is considered to be purely functional language. I know JavaScript is a highly scripting language that is prototypical. But when I ask developers is javaScript primarily a functional language or object oriented? This is where it gets confusing. Can it be said that JavaScript primarily a functional language, similar to Haskell? I googled prototypical languages and I got a very broad answer which wasn't clear to me.

We will be given a circle with radius 'r' and we have 'n' 2d objects of irregular shapes with it's 2d boundary points and certain 'height's of their own. We have to select and put as many of those shapes into that circle condition being that the object with the smallest height must be placed in the center and move outwords accordingly. If anybody can help. It is like a best-fitting objects problem.
