Its interesting how this concept of thinking from other people's perspective ties to simply having empathy - which is a must have quality in a product person.

"The more I ask why, the greater the likelihood that these impulsive thoughts don't even come, and they get replaced over time with clearer thoughts" - this is a fundamental way of thinking and viewing the world. In fact, it is the core of a scientific mindset. I believe the world would greatly benefit if more people stopped even a few moments a day to think this way.

Thank you. This is inquiry called jijñāsā questioning our assumptions by the process of neti neti (not this, not this). As we negate more and more layers of unreality, we come closer to who we are which js actually very beautiful and serene. Comes in the Gita.

@shreyas: What do you do if the incentives are fundamentally misaligned? My most difficult coworkers were those whose promotions depended on them REFUSING to help me (or some other person). Teams were rewarded to report that they had hobbled other teams and 'won' some deliverable by themselves. What do you suggest in this case?
