I wish you luck Jacob, It's amazing but usually baseball is not really a get quick rich sport , in other words, it takes time, no matter your athletic skills,... you really got into it late...I will give you one advice, find yourself a good coach that knows what he is doing, and practice, practice, and more practice . Check back with us and write to us about your progress.

Matty, I'd like to thank you for your work on these videos. Before high school I quit baseball because I was constantly told I was doing things wrong but was never told WHAT was right. I have started playing again and your clear instructions have allowed me to work on all my skills with recognizable results. Last season was ok and the next will be better!

Hey Matt, in high school i threw left handed and mostly played outfield and first base, but I wanted to be a middle infielder. This Video and your instruction helped me make my right arm strong to prep for right hand throwing. It was really motivational because I thought I'd never throw right handed. Now I'm in college playing second base. Thanks so much

Awesome video! Had a scout approach me a few years back and told me to add 5mph on to my fastball and he'd take me to spring training. I separated my shoulder 2 weeks after and since then I haven't been able to get my form back. I let my overall form get sloppy infield and outfield which probably contributes to my shoulder hurting. Correcting my form and using more body than just arm should help a ton! Thanks for the great vid!

Hey Bud, you can fix your accuracy! Try searching for our video, "Finding the Seams." You could be holding the ball in a funky way, which could be affecting your release point. Most likely your release point is the issue. Ball SAILING over their head? Releasing too early. Sending it into the dirt?! Then you're holding on to it too long. You'll figure it out! -Coach Matty

Step 1 does not exist in an actual throw. The elbow is not just in front of the body when you throw. The elbow is out front and beside the body. If you are going to do any kind of wrist flips, be sure to keep your elbow above the shoulder and to the side when you start and then it comes forward from there--where it will be when you actually throw a ball. We aren't throwing darts, we are throwing baseballs!

Hey Matt. I play third and whenever I throw, I throw a curveball. It really is frustrating because i throw over the top, have a four seam grip, and throw behind the ball. I try to snap my wrist down, but it always curves. I know this because my coach drew a line around the ball and if I threw it straight, it would line up, but it didnt. It is effecting my playing time and i hate it. Help!

Short-arming is very common in young ballplayers. Watch this video again closely and see the arm angle I have in the last two progressions. Then what you need to do, is have someone video tape YOU making throws. VIDEOS NEVER LIE! If you can see yourself short-arming it, you'll then start to recognize what that feeling is, and then learn to detach that feeling and make a larger "C" with your arm as you get into your power position. Practice Makes Perfect! Let me know how it goes. -Coach Matty

I'm a junior cricket coach and I have started to use this system for teaching the kids I coach. I think cricket coaches should spend more time learning from baseball coaches because the mechanics of fielding are more or less the same for both sports. I suspect baseball coaches have fogptten more about throwing than the average cricket coach has ever known.
