I'm due in July with my first and really unsure of my baby shower on June 6th. I have the invites and they're ready to be sent out but I feel like I should add a note attached. Possibly saying that the event might be cancelled. Not sure what to write, any ideas???

Hi! First of all - congratulations with your pregnancy! Hope all is going well? I completely understand your concerns. We're living in uncertain times at the moment and don't know when we'll be allowed to throw parties or meet up with friends again. I think it's a good idea to add a note, so your friends know the baby shower might not be taking place face-to-face. It would be a shame to cancel your baby shower, why not throw a virtual one instead in case social distancing measurements don't allow a 'real' baby shower? Perhaps say: ‘In case coronavirus measurements will still be in place, the shower will be a virtual one instead.' In that case you still have your shower and your friends can prepare for it as well! Big hugs!

The shower invites are out,set to be on Zoom, registry is working well & gifts are arriving. One concern is that there are a lot of attendees(40?), many of your ideas are really great but I am afraid will not work with such a large group...any suggestions for keeping a large crowd on track?

Thank you so much. I'm throwing one this week.

That's great to hear, enjoy! I threw one for a friend today, was great fun. We ended up doing the baby quiz through Kahoot, a programme in which attendees can all fill in their guesses through their mobile phone. Have fun and let me know in case you need any help!

My lovely mom is throwing one for us in the next month and we started getting gifts through the mail already. Wondering if we should let our guest know we received their gifts or wait to thank them during the actual baby shower.

How nice of her! If I were on the giving side of it, I think I would like to know my gift has arrived safe and well. Unless you want to wait with unpacking/unwrapping the gifts and do it during the baby shower? You can always thank them again and go through the already unwrapped ones during your shower. Enjoy!

My mother in law wants to plan a baby shower for me using Zoom. Do you know how many people can join in a session? I don't want to invite so many people that they can't join.

Hi Chelsea! How nice that your mother in law wants to plan one for you. Zoom allows 100 people to join, though I find that having too many people in one conversations becomes distracting. I recently organised a virtual baby shower and we had 14 people joining, which worked perfectly. I would recommend using Zoon on a laptop or desktop computer by the way, because then you have the option to view all the participants on one screen. Enjoy!
