Thank you for the great plate tutorial! I’m a novice potter in Seattle, just learning to throw while working full-time as an Architect. I’m curious to know how you’ve gone about developing your buyer-base for your pots (or at least your plates). Is it just folks finding you thru the web or have you sought out restaurants and the like who align with your particular style?
@bwpottery10 ай бұрын
i’m glad it was helpful! i dedicated a lot of time to growing my socials, and through that i’ve been lucky enough to sell online. i also sell to a few restaurants in portland! a lot of it had to do with word of mouth and people seeking out my pottery. i started throwing in 2009 so it’s a been a long road developing my style and business 😊

Would you mind sharing what type of bat you use to throw them on/dry the plates on overnight? Are they medex? I'm trying to decide the best type of bat to invest in with plates in mind (ones that will absorb but not warp etc.), but I haven't found a direct answer!

Do you use any sort of air filter or filtration system to keep the clay dust down? I know silica lung is a big bad in the industry 🫁
@bwpottery Жыл бұрын
honestly i don’t. i have some windows for air flow! and i try to do my best to mop and keep dust to a minimum. for the most part i’m not stirring up anything so it stays relatively fresh! 😅
