One might think this is not an essential skill - but truly - professionals know this is the first and probably most critical step. Most pinholes occur within a few millimeters from the nozzle. I would also add that caring for your skin is also important. Rough, dry skin will abraid the latex surface.

Hi Mike, I'm trying to find anything on the inflation of the balloon itself. it seems that I'm not burping it or letting enough air out to soften it enough. I keep breaking them due to pressure.

Brilliant! I tie mine the same way but I'm one of those who ends up with minimal slack to tie since I use a hand pump lol never thought of twisting space to create more space! Awesome

I like the idea of when you have a short neck how you make it longer by twisting a bubble, then letting the air out. I always play around with balloons and try this and that, but making a bubble and letting the air out is excellent.

Hey Mike, I'm a total newby and I noticed that in your videos when you start you say something like "inflate the balloon half way" or "inflate 2/3 of the way", yet when you blow it up it looks more than a half or 2/3 full. So what do you mean when you say that?

Not all balloons are create equal. I fold the balloon in half and pinch the half way point. When it is inflated, it sometime look more than half way. It is just a starting point.

Even with round balloons, if you let a little air out, you'll have more slack to tie the balloon.

Enderman02 make sure the balloons are not old. Don't inflate it all the way leave some room. Before you tie it, "burp" the balloon by letting some air out.

It’s harder for to tie a balloon because I am left handed . So you mentioned that some people blow it up without a tail . I am one of those people . And I tried your strategies .
