WT Hibbert in Breckenridge Texas was the first person to tie those halters . He used the same knot through out the halter. He got a patron on those halters back in the 70s I believe. He shod horses for Many many years and made thousands of those halters I still have some of the ones he made. His wife Sue would make the lead ropes. He was a darn good man and a dear friend.

I’ve been making halters for nearly 7 years and the way I learned a fiador knot was really confusing but this make so much more sense to me! I had never thought of it like a rosebud!
@jamiemaclean76362 жыл бұрын
Growing up as a broke barrel racer, I paid for my first local show season making and selling these halters at 12yrs old! I used to sell em for literally 10 bucks a piece or 15 with a lead rope, talk about cheap labour 😅

Thanks for the idea! I'm a broke horse person in general! And who couldn't use a new halter!?
@gordontaylor86894 жыл бұрын
I grew up calling the halter knot a rosebud, and the fiador knot a turks head - always called the knot that went around the heel knot of bosal a fiador knot. Nice halter, best video and explanation i've seen!

I quit making the fedora then started making the Massey Walker, it looks just as good and doesn't take as long. However a good presentation. When I am in a hurry I make a double square knot all the through the halter.

Wearing real, leather chaps and spurs. Look outside, in the parking lot and see a horse 🐴 trailer, with a real working horse. You will never forget that.

I’ve only seen a different way of doing the fiador knot 🪢 , dunno if I’ll manage to do it like that 😅 what rope is used? cause the only ones I can find are too unrigid 1/4" polypropylene ropes, found some rigid once but they were elastic. a type of rope that I’d find in Spain (Europe) too, cz thats where I’m at 😆
